Some more facts about the AU before the snowfall took place.
Isono can go outside, but only for a couple hours because of her agoraphobia.
Chiba and Hama know each other, and would regularly visit the animal shelter that Harada and Yukino work in.
Wada did end up seeking a psychologist, which is how she was able to transition earlier than in the series.
Sasaki is slightly annoyed by Hiroaki. But tries not to argue with him since she believes it would make things worse. Ojima and Hiroaki are also roommates.
Tamba met Yanagi when she accidentally bumped into him at a strip mall.
Ikeda is an orphan who sold paintings on the streets. Tei would often notice him outside the workplace.
Yokoi and Ouno are best friends.
Yaitabashi would regularly visit Nishiguchi at Hitokoki pizza.
Hirose and Denden are classmates. Though, Hirose does think that Denden’s too much of an airhead.
Ogura has a habit of escaping school. She got caught twice.
Isoda’s a bit of a hikikomori, so they would mostly be in their home unless they need to go out. They also have light sensitivity, meaning they usually prefer the dark.
Of course, we’re going to start with the Toon itself! Unlike Chiba, Sasaki was a hard one to come up with. (After all, the object or animal affiliated had to fit her personality or talent.) Eventually, I decided on a forget-me-not. Not only because of its symbolism and color scheme, but also due to a certain feature I wanted to add.
Now for the outfit, I gave her a student uniform. Which I attempted to mimic a style that’s similar to those in magical girl anime. To also show that she’s part of the student council/being the student council president, I wrapped a red armband on her right sleeve. I also couldn’t forget that she had a knee injury, so I once again pulled up @laugtherhyena /Carol’s redesign and gave her a knee brace. (Can’t forget about her glasses as well!) The socks and shoes also resemble the ones paired with the school uniforms.
You may have noticed the leaves on her head, as well as on the bottom of her skirt. Well, it turns out that I gave her wolf-like features, with the leaves mimicking that of ears and tail. Her eyes are also that of a wolves’, allowing her to see at long-range distances, even without her glasses (though it will be a bit blurred and not as far).
Now for her AU version, she’s mostly unharmed aside from the scratch wound on her left arm…wait. A scratch wound?
Yep! Turns out she’s on the first stage of infection! She got scratched by Ouno! I also gave her a frying pan as a weapon, though I doubt it would do anything against the entities.

Can you make a sprite edit of this @laugtherhyena's Tsuno Manami sprite here but with a grinning teeth smile on her face? (I LOOVE some sprites of the characters that has a big grinning teeth smiles on their faces sooo... yeah!)
Not exactly the best, but hopefully you’re okay with it!
Let’s start with the Toon itself! Of course, I had to make her a lily! More specifically, a lily of the valley!
Now for the outfit, it was mainly inspired by an edit I did of, you guessed it, @laugtherhyena /Carol’s Masami sprite! (I really use her sprites as inspiration a lot, don’t I?)
Anyways, I gave her an outfit similar to that of her original “design”, including the coat (or jacket?) that she wears. The shirt is a jacket with overalls that I tried to make it so that it transitions into a skirt, but might’ve accidentally made a weird-looking half instead. Whoopsies! She also has red socks as well as black sneakers/shoes, which also came from the sprite itself.
I decided to transform the flower’s sepal into her hair, with the attaching stem turning into something that resembles a braid. Of course, I also couldn’t forget her beret hat, which I tried to recreate. The hair was still looking a bit boring, so I added in a faux lily as decoration. Her eyes have red lily decals, which hang slightly above the pupils.
For her AU version, she looks completely fine…except for the fact that she’s missing her LEFT ARM! You see, she was bitten there thanks to an encounter. Because of this, Isono had to amputate it so the virus doesn’t spread to the rest of the body. She now also carries a knife as a weapon, though it isn’t affective.
(Side note: Originally a Masanari design was also planned, but the base for her head was used completely to make both the normal and AU design and I didn’t make another copy for the base, womp womp.
If that design was drawn, it would be mainly based on his outfit before chapter four of Pink took place, along with the word Oyasumi (goodnight) written on one side of it.)

As you might’ve already seen, she was able to explore her identity and transition earlier than in the series. Though, her life is still mundane, she feels more confident about herself, even if she’s a bit shy when talking to others.

Toon Hayashi is here! (TBH I don’t really like her design that much, but it still looks good nonetheless)

Let’s start with the Toon itself! Since she’s a bounty hunter, and Hitman would use tracking devices to find their targets, she’s going to be a radar/tracker!
Now, for the outfit. Once again, I pulled up @laugtherhyena /Carol’s redesign for inspiration. This also includes the hooded cape and brown camouflage jacket. Her jeans are also torn as well (kinda like Kami). On both of her arms are spiked bracelets and zip ties. I also gave her boots as well so she can walk through the snow easily.
For her face, let’s start with the elephant. Her tracker eye. Since she is a tracking device, her left eye is replaced by a radar/tracker. Allowing her to detect infected more easily (though I guess now that’s not an option anymore!). Her hair is actually scrap metal with red paint (not blood) that is attached to her head, along with strips of wires that are attached to the back of the head. I also have to make an antenna poke out of her head too! Since if she’s hunting down a target, she probably needs some sort of communication with the police.
Her skin has stripe-like patterns that resemble that of a tiger as well! Because she is a hunter and I just thought that would be a good detail.
As for her AU form, I shattered her radar eye, broke one of the antennas and made the paint on her hair look like it’s worn down. The outer part of the wires are now ripped, exposing the copper. Her skin is also starting to become worn and is covered by scars from encounters.
I gave her a little axe as a weapon (seems like she used it already, though, I wonder why the blood is both pink and blue). And… huh. I wonder where she got that snowflake pin. (It was probably given by him, I guess.)

Lore wise, her backstory is the same as the original. Though when the apocalypse hit, she was recruited by military forces to help take out the mutated entities that are roaming the streets.
That’s where she met two other Toons, a gymnast and a professional figure skater. The three got along very well, though she did have a hard time warming up to them at first. During this time, she lost contact with the unit, so she’s unable to call reinforcements to rescue them.
But all good things must never last forever… (a TW below the cut for character deaths)
Disaster struck in the form of one fateful encounter. It was supposed to be a normal scouting trip, however, a sneaky, little fox had to turn the tide by killing one of them during a special occasion. The two fought her off, but her other friend got bitten in the process.
As the days went by, her condition got worse and worse. At first it was just a fever, but she soon had claws forming on her hair and began to shiver profusely. With this, she made a request to Mai.
The bounty hunter looked at her one last time, and…
Putting Tamba out of her misery is something that she’ll remember for the rest of her life.
With both of her friends now dead, she became colder and vengeful. Getting rid of any infected in sight, regardless on whether they have transformed or not. It doesn’t matter to her. If they’re infected, they’re dead.
But most importantly, she’s searching for the one who took them away from her.
A bit of a fun fact about my AU while I work on Mai:
Did you know that this AU is actually a revamped version of an old one I abandoned? I wanted to try doing a Tetro AU for a long while after a few days of being in the Fandom, but I didn’t want to make a rewrite or something related to the killing game.
That’s when I remembered a winter apocalypse/infection AU that I abandoned a long time ago. So I decided to rework it from the ground up with the Tetro cast, alongside changing the name to “Blight of the fallen rabbit” so it fits the series.
I had a bit of a problem though, that being I wasn’t good with drawing anime-style characters and didn’t want to use already drawn redesigns as it would make it harder to draw in scenes. So I decided to combine the series with another thing I like, Dandy’s World! By making the students into Toons, I will have an easier time drawing them and won’t have to use redesigns. (Not that I don’t want to, of course!)
And that’s how the AU was created! (It’s basically a two birds in one stone scenario, or should I say, two rabbits in one snare!)

Ouno,Ouno,Ouno…
She was part of Sasaki’s group. However, after they were chased by a horde of infected/Frostbites, Sasaki checked if anyone was infected.
…Turns out that she had a bite mark on her leg…
Seeing this, Sasaki and rest of the group left her behind, even though Yokoi and Hiroaki tried to disagree. The two even checked back on where they left her, but she was gone.
They will regret doing that to her very soon…

Design explanation time!
It was very obvious for the Toon itself based on his character, he’s going to be a Jellyfish!
For the outfit, I modified the hoodie from his original “design”, as I still found it a bit interesting and didn’t want to change it. His skull decal has been changed to look more like an octopus in order to match the aquatic theming. As for his jeans, I made it a little bit ripped alongside adding some patterns! Bubbles, jellyfishes, sea angels and even an Anglerfish’s lantern!
His hair is mostly translucent, with a watery texture and the pattern of a moon jellyfish. The rest of his hair, including his bangs, have been turned into tentacles. Curiously, he’s able to control the tentacles and use them as appendages to assist in different tasks. Except for his bangs, those are part of the water hair. For the eyes, I gave him a red ring in his pupils, alongside some extra white details. (I was very inspired by his Imago design in TVOF by @holyitsquiverrflynn , so had to base the Toon itself on that! Thanks, Flynn!)
Now, you might be wondering, why doesn’t he have an AU version? Well, since he doesn’t have any injuries so far, his AU version will literally just be him with snow on top of his head. And I didn’t want to draw it because it will not only be boring, but is also a repeat of the normal version with only a few details in place. (This applies to the rest of the survivors as well, except for Chiba and probably Ogura.)

Kamimura is one of the more… special cases in my AU. Because as you probably know thanks to one of my posts, he is somehow immune to the virus itself! (Ironic, isn’t it? The student with lots of medical conditions is actually immune to this virus.)
Despite being immune himself, he is still able to be affected by it. However, he doesn’t experience any of the stages. Instead, his blood would slowly resemble that of the entities, though it doesn’t contain the virus. (Also it makes it look like he has luminol as his blood lol)
