A cat is a small creature in the middle of the food chain that is fully aware that you are a very large thing that could stomp its head in at any moment and yet it chooses to rest its tiny little head on your leg for a nap and spreads out on the floor near you exposing its belly and its most sensitive organs. Don’t you get it? This tiny thing trusts you. It wants to help you too. It licks your leg thinking that it’s helping. It kneads on you to find comfort. It shares its body warmth with you in the cold and gives you your space in the heat. It hisses at other mammals it sees outside including other cats in an effort to protect its family.

I can’t believe we live in a time where I am a racist because I don’t fuck with honour killings, the taliban, women being forced to cover up, children being married off because they’ve started their period, women being told that if they deny their husband sex angels will curse them when they sleep and a woman’s testimony being half that of a male.

None of you care about women and instead you’re too busy dyeing your fucking armpit hairs than talking about the real oppression out there that women are facing.

Somalia is almost entirely muslim. They recently attempted to change the age of marriage to 18 to prevent child marriage. It was overturned within 24 hours because so many men were against it and it didn’t align with islamic teaching.

Recognizing that it sucks to be physically smaller and weaker, to cry easier, to menstruate, etc isn’t a sign that “you’re not supposed to be a woman”.

But by focusing only on how harmful this is to lesbians, we leave bisexual women behind.

Many trans people have an attitude of “If lesbians/gay men don’t want me, at least bisexuals do.” And that’s just not true, and not fair to bisexuals. It leads to a culture of expecting bisexual women to be okay with any configuration of biological sex, hormonal status, and body parts.

Bisexuals are therefore framed as a group of women who are supposed to be available as a potential partner for anyone who wants them.

So it’s not just homophobic, it’s part of rape culture. Because it aims to teach (mostly) women that they’re not allowed to form their own feelings about their sexuality and their attraction. It teaches women that their sexuality isn’t for them. Their sexuality is a political statement, and there is a right and wrong statement to make.

The fact of the matter is that no one has to date someone they’re not attracted to. No one has to try to develop attraction for someone they’re not innately interested in. No one has to “examine their preferences” when it comes to who they want in their bed. This includes bisexuals.

Yes, women standing up for ourselves does lead to a lot of lonely mtfs who can’t get dates. No, that is not women’s problem.
