I find it hella interesting that Shadow’s first lines for the movie (other than confirming the date that he awakens in) is “why can’t you leave me alone?” Indicating that Shadow was 100% okay with not starting a fight and finding the bunker in Oklahoma. He truly was okay to be left alone before G.U.N. showed up and before Gerald reappeared in his life and convinced him to do something evil.

He truly wanted to be alone to process.
