“quite the charmer, huh?” rory giggled, chasing the male’s touch, as he whined slightly. “i’d love to, and sure that sounds nice. i’d really like to get to know you better, and yeah the magic would make it somewhat interesting but, i’m an open book.” the boy smiled as he came forward, blush on his cheeks as he took a deep breath. “if you’d like to try that for the laughs i’m game, i’m sure we’d say some pretty interesting things to each other, so why not. besides, call it a gut feeling, but i think i could trust you very easily.”

“i do try.” quill smirked, tilting his head to the side. “you shouldn’t always listen to your gut. there’s plenty of masters here that will trick you into thinking how nice we are before taking what’s rightfully ours.” quill let his hands wander to the boys hair again. “but you are right. you certainly can trust me. for now. i do have quite a lot of restraint when it comes to taking the pets i would really like. especially when they are claimed by someone else. which is really a shame. which master was lucky enough for you?”

“You know me, ever the entertainer.” Oz smirked playfully. He shook his head at the suggestion it could have been the other elders. “Unlikely, we have nothing to gain from causing such an uproar and if any of us had been effected with the secret-spilling serum then anyone could have exploited it and gotten their hands on Elder secrets.” Oz answered as he pulled out a packet of cigarettes and slipped one between his lips, setting it alight as they continued to walk. He listened to Quill as talked about what he’d been doing during the festival. “sounds riveting darling.” Oz chuckled. “It was okay but of course the party was a bore without you, you know how I enjoy your company.” The demon smirked back. 

quill nodded. that certainly made sense. he hadn’t given that thought much consideration at first. “elder secrets, huh? do they consist of drink recipes or something?” he laughed. “riveting indeed. though mostly boring. especially being stuck all alone since everyone was enjoying the party. don’t worry, i know. my company can’t be exceeded. much. it also probably could... but i’m sure it would be very hard to do.” he felt the same about oz as well. being one of his favorite to hang out with. “so, question for you. i want to make a drink for each of the species here. but for the vampires i don’t want to go with something usual like a bloody mary. i want to do something a little more original.” 

“you suggesting you would’ve snatched me up had you had the chance.” rory teased not thinking that for a second quill would’ve tried fried for that. “as long as he knows where i am i don’t think he’ll have an issue.” he hummed, leaning into his touch as he looked up at quill. “that feels really nice. i’d love to spend a night with you, maybe make it many nights, just trying to take the chance to get to know you better.”

“i’m not saying i would not have done so.” quill let his hand fall back to his side, brow raising. “yeah? then would you accompany me back to my coffee shop? maybe i could get you a drink and we can take a chance to get to know each other a little better. nothing too drastic. just a couple of questions for each other? a game of it, perhaps? no truth spells or anything like that.” he chuckled, holding his hands up. “though that certainly would put a nice spin to it.”

“i guess me belonging to someone now really does fit with the phrase one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.” rory giggled, shaking his head at the whole thing now that he wasn’t just a lowly pet anymore. “either way, how can i be of service to you right now?”

“too bad. but i guess the saying is true that if you snooze you lose.” quill smirked. “do you think your new master would mind me taking you for the night? i don’t believe i got to be acquainted with you yet, and that’s really just sad.” quill frowned, reaching to run his fingers through the pets hair.

“A fun one, but right now I should probably avoid something so theatrical.” Oz chuckled before he gave an almost tired sigh. “Fine, it’s more tedious than anything else, trying to hunt down the idiot that pulled such a stunt. Would be easier if I had some competent help but it seems I’m perhaps the only Elder who seems interested in the matter and I didn’t get scandalised with my drink.” Oz shrugged. It would be far easier for the demon not to care about what had happened, but he sometimes took his job as one of the founders of the city seriously. “I didn’t see your pretty face there Quill, busy were you?” Oz smirked. 

“too bad. it certainly would have been entertaining.” he shrugged. “that’s good though that you’re so interested. could it have been the other elder’s and maybe that’s why they aren’t keen on helping? not that i should be one to suggest someone of your standing would do such a thing, because i don’t even want to think about the repercussions for that, but...” quill laughed, nodding at the question. “my pretty face and i had some rearranging to do to the shop. mainly adding in some hot chocolate for those that don’t drink coffee, and then adding a new bed where i’m residing above said coffee shop. needed something comfier.” he shrugged. “other than not seeing my pretty face, you enjoy it? i know that must have been hard for you.” quill smirked, nudging his shoulder.

Oz didn’t like doing press meetings but sometimes it just couldn’t be helped or avoided. After the little mishap at the Elder’s Founding Festival, he and a few others had been dealing with the backlash. That and he had to keep his hoards of demons in line where needed, so the King of Hell had spent the better part of the morning doing interviews in his territory of Downtown. “I’ll say no more on the matter of the enchanted drinks, it is being handled.” Oz dismissed the reporters, stepping through them and ignoring their continued questions. As he passed someone he spoke. “Walk with me, if I have to look at one more reporter I might turn them inside out and wouldn’t that be a scene.” He said, taking hold of said person’s elbow so they would indeed walk with him to keep the reporters away.
