So, itās been a minute since I had a blog like that. It used to be a huge part of my life for around eight years five years ago, but then it just⦠well, itās not there anymore. It was a platform not unlike this one that no one knows about. After it basically went down, I couldnāt choose what I wanted to do: write another blog? Where? Move to Facebook, Instagram, TikTok? Sounds cool, but Iāve never been one to talk and donāt really care for visual content. What language (I know a couple)? Where do I start ā from the begging? Where is this beginning even? Or just write about what comes to mind? What should I write about: make it a blog about a topic or just write whatever?
I guess, after five years, I just have to scratch that itch and donāt care anymore. Iāll write it here: the platform reminds me of my last one (fandoms, anonymity, text-based, can be anything youād like). Iāll just write, not thinking too much about the structure. Itāll be in English because itās not my native language and you have to use something not to forget it. Iāll talk about whatever topic comes to mind and Iāll try not to loop (I have a tendency to talk about things again, and again, and again to the point where itās unhealthy for me).
Letās make this post the first one, the about me one. Iām a seasoned oversharer, but for now Iāll try to keep it less personal, less identifiable and then weāll see how it goes. The deal is ten facts: eight neutral, two keeping it real (i.e. about life problems):
1. Nameās Jay;
2. quietorbit84 is the handle ChatGPT chose for me. I donāt like picking names, so I asked it to do it for me. Before the Chat, Iād just go to random name generators. I liked its reasoning behind the handle: evokes observation and reflection, calm but not dramatic. Iāll try to go for this vibe. 84 is not my birth year, Tumblr just said that the handle was already taken, and I love Orwellās 1984: I love dystopias, and this is, I guess, the darkest one Iāve ever read. And itās a number, a year. So, every time I need to pick a year, I choose ā84;
3. Iām in Israel, but Iām not from Israel;
4. Age bracket: a younger Millennial;
5. I can say that I love stories. I love everything: TV shows, movies, books, games, sometimes I like to think about stories to write. My one true love are TV shows, I find time to watch something every day. For me, it really is a hobby, not just a way to pass time;
6. Iām asexual (seems random, but it does shape a lot in life!);
7. Iām female;
8. Iām curious about a lot of things in life. I love languages (English is my one true love, but forgive me for my mistakes, I have to switch between three languages on the daily, and English is the least used one for me), psychology (but not therapy culture), financial literacy, tech;
9. Iām.. letās say, chronically unwell. I canāt say Iām disabled or chronically ill because I think these are official diagnoses and I donāt have them, but my energy levels and overall wellbeing (both mental and physical) havenāt been great for the past ten years. I find it important to mention because it does influence my life, how I see my life and what I can do with my life. Iāll try both to talk about it and not talk about it too much, for my own sake: writing things out is a magical tool that affects your life, so, one needs to use it wisely not to hyperfocus on the issues;
10. Iāve seen some shit in my life, and, I guess, Iāll process it here, too. Iāll try not to do it too much and Iāll try not to leave such posts without hope and resolution.
Thatāll be enough for today. Weāll see how it goes.
