When I get hurt or think ‘this person does not deserve grace’, I remember God’s mercy and grace on me. I was not worthy. Not in my actions, or my heart which was loving sin- but He loved me, He chose not only to forgive me but to wash it away forever- not holding it against me. That’s so uncommon in our world today, because even when some people choose to forgive, deep down they may hold on and not truly set the person free of the offense they caused. Grace, forgiveness comes clearly to mind as the right choice when I see how Christ loved me. He set the example, and I want to love like He has loved me. It’s not about what people deserve. It is about love. That is what God cares about, and that is what we must care about most. It’s so easy to put our pride or pain ahead of thinking of others and what is the most loving response that will exemplify His love toward them.
