Lupin listened with curious ears, hearing every word his partner offered with piqued interest. At face value, it was a crazy conspiracy that most would roll their eyes at. But something about this box Jigen mentioned resonated with the master thief. Brows furrowed as he seemed to be pulled deeper and deeper down the rabbit hole.

Originally, the thief was only here to gamble, maybe swipe a few dollars off some greedy bigwigs. It’d be easy to change out the roulette ball with something magnetized or weighted to get it to land just on the right spot. He could be rakin’ in the dough all night!

Instead, he was sitting across from Jigen, racking his brain for answers to why this dumb box sounded so familiar. Instead, he propositioned his partner.

“You’ve really done your homework, Jigen, I’m impressed. Even I didn’t know about this guy, and you know me, I’m always in the know!”  He lifted his drink to his lips and sipped at it. For a moment, however, he kept it there, thoughtful eyes trained on the rim of the glass across from his nose.

“It’s curious, really,”  he began, finally lowering that glass,  “I kinda wanna know what secrets it holds.”

    He leaned forward on the table, setting the glass down. Lips twitched up into a smirk as an impromptu plan formulated in his head.  “What d’ya say to a little smash ‘n grab tonight at the auction, partner?”

❝ hm!!  how  could  i  forget  your  social  climbing  agenda?? ❞  He  sneered,  perhaps  a  bit  more  venomous  than  intended,  ❝ just  got  a  little  nosy  is  all,  nothing  to  get  too  excited  about— ❞

          A  bounce  of  his  shoulder  was  rewarded  by  the  praise,  as  well  as  a  grin  kindled  from  delight  regardless  of  his  nonchalant  words.  He  was  fascinated,  however,  not  only  by  Lupin’s  Ignorance  on  the  subject,  but  by  the  curiously  thoughtful  look  he  adopted  incited  only  by  his  half-assed  pitch.  In  the  midst  of  the  silence,  Jigen’s  glass  lingered  at  his  mouth,  all  the  while  studying  the  other’s  expression..  He  never  knew  what  to  expect  when  the  sort  of  wistful  thoughtful  look  existed  on  Lupin’s  features..  His  thoughts  were  interrupted  however,  and  he  was  graced  by  a  satisfying  response.

❝ i  was  hopin’  you’d  say  that.. ❞

          He    spared    a    subtle    glance    from    beneath    the    rim    of    his    trademark    hat,    but    his    features    remained    soft,    if    only    because    he    was    put    at    ease    by    the    enthusiasm    radiating    off    his    partner.

❝ humm.. sounds  like  a good time..  i’m  in..  got  nothing  else  going  on  anyways—— ❞  

    “I hate to break it to you, pal, but your brain rotted years ago!”  Lupin replied before continuing his scroll through the website’s inventory. He found himself pausing, scrolling back up and clicking on a specific card game.

    “Well, since your old bones don’t feel up to the task of some physical activity with Throw Throw Burrito,”  Lupin began, lips curling into a devious little smirk before he continued,  “why not this, instead?”

On his screen was a game known as ‘Who’s More Likely To…’ and Lupin’s grin only grew.  “Well, Jigen? What d’ya think of this?”

❝  keh..!!  maybe  i’d  be  up  for  it,  but  only  if  i  can  stuff  a  rock  in  the  one  i  throw!!  ❞

          He  retaliated  with  a  vicious  sneer,  accentuating  his  irritation  by  ripping  one  of  the  cushions  from  behind  him  and  hurling  it  at  his  companions  face..  As  if  he  wanted  to  hear  snide  remarks  about  his  age  when  he  was  trying  to  relax!!  Harrumph!!  He  didn’t  think  Lupin  was  even  much  younger  than  himself  (  or  perhaps  that’s  just  what  he’s  gone  and  convinced  himself  of  )..  That  being  said,  he  paused  his  assault  upon  registering  what  was  said  to  him,  as  well  as  the  new  game  decorating  the  screen.  Pursing  his  lips,  he  leaned  forward  to  get  a  better  look..

❝  what’s  so  great  about  it—??  ❞

          He  could  never  make  anything  simple..  His  words  driven  by  pure  spite  at  this  point,  still  bitter  about  the  wise  comments..  The  gunman,  however,  couldn’t  completely  conceal  his  curiosity,  and  while  delivering  a  head  tilt  and  clearing  his  throat,  a  glance  was  spared  in  his  partners  direction.

          This  whole  not  going  out  thing  was  irking  to  him  in  some  ways,  however,  the  thieves  lackadaisical  nature  made  the  experience  tolerable  to  some  extent..  Feet  kicked  up  on  the  table  and  hat  resting  atop  his  face,  every  fiber  of  his  body  language  suggesting  he  was  in  the  middle  of  a  nap,  though  that  wasn't  the  case..  Upon  being  regarded,  head  tilted  upwards  to  peek  at  the  computer..

          The  game  in  question  was  not  something  he  expected,  but  was  by  no  means  surprised  it  was  the  first  thing  his  companion  went  for..  Vaguely  pushing  himself  upright,  he  couldn’t  help  but  grimace  at  the  sight..  Sometimes  he  was  left  pondering  when  games  got  like..  that..

Elbow  balances  on  table,  chin  balances  in  palm.  Yukako  displays  the  comportment  of  a  teenager,  disinterested  in  a  spiel  their  parent  is  forcing  them  to  listen  to.  The  semantics  of  guns  and  firearms  becomes  quite  tiresome  to  hear  after  a  while,  but  she  watches  him  tangent  regardless.  Come  the  end,  she  sits  up  from  her  lethargic  disposition,  arm  falling  to  her  side.  “  You  act  so  closed  off,  ”  she  begins  after  momentary  assessment,  “  but  then  you  talk  so  passionately.  ”  About…  guns,  but  that  isn’t  the  point…!  “  Which  is  which?  ”

          A  tut  escaped  him  as  his  gun  related  tangent  was  cut  off  by  the  (  self  decidedly  )  arbitrary  remark..  The  gunman  was  aware  he  behaved  frequently  with  disinterest  concerning  much  of  what  went  on  around  him,  and  quite  honestly,  it  could  simply  be  due  to  his  own  lackadaisical  agenda,  but  he  didn’t  quite  expect  anyone  to  point  it  out  so  blatantly.

❝  what, you  mean  my  personality??  aren’t  i  allowed  a  little  diversity??  ❞

          Kicking  his  feet  up  and  leaning  back,  expression  curled  into  one  of  amusement.  It  was  entirely  impossible  to  get  a  direct  answer  from  the  man  considering  he  found  the  nature  of  this  particular  question  entertaining.  A  hum  left  him  as  he  finally  regarded  her  question  again,  though,  not  in  a  way  that  was  any  more  informative  than  before.

          Kicking  his  feet  up  on  the  dash,  hat  tilted  downward  as  the  car  swerved  violently  through  small  streets  in  order  to  execute  their  getaway.  Jigen  himself  was  content  with  not  driving  the  car  that  day,  instead  he  insisted  he  take  passenger  seat  out  of  pure  lackadaisical  impulse.  A  voice,  however,  caught  his  attention,  and  he  couldn't  help  the  smile  that  manipulated  his  expression.

          Tickled  by  the  words,  a  muffled  titter  escaped  him  as  he  tilted  his  head  back,  acknowledging  the  girl  in  purple  sitting  backseat  with  samurai  company,  seemingly  indifferent  with  the  fact  the  car  was  rocking  back  and  forth  ferociously.  Her  sparkling  expression,  however,  suggested  she  knew  just  how  much  he  actually  enjoyed  poetry  to  the  side..  To  be  quite  honest,  he  indulged  in  it  quite  a  bit  when  unoccupied  by  the  life  of  a  thief.
