Some more daily TypeCooker sketching. This time an italic "slab" serif with straight stems, expansion contrast type and in a thin weight. Only the s is left somewhat undecided.

Stretching my fingers on this lovely Friday afternoon. Still a lot of practice needed, but not bad for some quick freehand doodling.
Our cat (print of her) supervising the progress of my typeface design. Under these critical eyes you just have to feel extra inspired! Left top a print with alterations made based on the other sketches.

Normally I'm not one to advocate for simulating brush lettering with a different tool, at least not without actual brushed reference, but for this #TypeCooker challenge the outcome is quite to my liking. Brushed stroke, swashes, round line endings.
Here a sketch playing around with geometric construction for a sans serif type. Using a brio is sometimes liberatingly definite - find the form or redrawn, so this helps focus on what is essential in the design.
