First heard a snippet of this back in January 2019 and it’s only now, September 2020, that I heard the full song. Can’t believe I got so busy and forgot all about this.

A little throwback to 1998.

This has to be one of my most favorite music videos of all time. I just love all of the visual elements in it. I love the use of different shades of gray and/or silver, whites, and steel. The video is basically every minimalist’s dream come true. I also love the plane, the taxi, the clocks, the outfits and make-up...the weird close-up shots of her touching her tummy and bending forward and backward and even the fact that she almost never sings fully facing the camera.  I just love it!

And of course, the song in itself is beautiful too. It greatly depicts the disillusionment one experiences after a break-up, when you finally see the person for who he/she really is...in this case, someone who took advantage of your weakness...your insecurities. My fave lines are: “All that you served to me, no longer will I drink it in.” and “I see the you I never knew. Now it’s finally sinking in.”
