I had a lot of fun writing this one, I really hope you like it as well!
It's the first time I wrote for them (Both also go by They/He/It pronouns)
Daycare Attendant x Reader
You sigh as you make your way out of the bus and towards the Pizzaplex.
Why the bus you ask? Well, your car broke down while driving home, followed by a lot of other inconveniences and accidents.
You are absolutely exhausted but you need to do your job as a night guard at this place.
They first had one night guard, Vanessa, but they decided to get another one in since the Staff robots can be very easily manouvered around if you decide to break in and one guard cannot see everything.
So Vanessa and you made a plan that she monitors one side of the Plex and you the other.
One of the things you monitor is the Daycare, a place you actually quite like to be in since you became friends with the animatronic there.
You love both Sundrop and Moondrop, Sundrop was very easy to be friends with even if he can be quite hyperactive, but Moondrop was a whole other story.
He seems to be more vary, even if it shares the same opinions with Sundrop.
You push open the heavy doors of the building with a sigh and turn on your flashlight to start your normal routine.
Meet up with Vanessa, look through the main hall and then go into the attractions and the daycare.
As you walk towards the segment you meet up in you see the flashlight of your fellow coworker already.
Vanessa huffs amused as she sees you approaching and raises an eyebrow.
"You look like you're a Zombie."
You can't help but smile a little as you roll your eyes.
"Oh I definitely feel like one, today was... something."
Vanessa chuckles a little but then looks towards the clock.
"As much as I would love to chat, we need to get going, we can talk in our break later."
You pout but nod, agreeing with her.
As you walk away you shortly wave at her before resuming your duties.
You think about visiting the daycare first since you could really need Sunny's positive energy or Moons more relaxing one.
As you think about them you smile a little, yeah, you're gonna visit them first.
With that thought in mind you beeline it towards the daycare and wait till the gates go up a little so you can go under and in it quickly.
You go through the room and glance fondly at the statues before heading to the main room, contemplating if you want to go down the slide or not.
You shortly look around if anyone sees, even if it's silly since you are alone with the Daycare Attendant roaming around somewhere. You quickly go down the slide and into the ballpit, shortly regretting doing it because of what could all be in it left by kids and toddlers.
You start to wade through the balls and out of the pit as you hear a familiar voice from up top.
"(Y/N)!! You're finally here!!"
You look up and see the cheery animatronic, chuckling a little at his happiness as he dives down into the ball pit and almost instantly appears next to you, wrapping you into a tight hug and spinning you around.
"I missed you I missed you I missed you friend!!"
It nuzzles a little against your cheek before you quickly ask them to let you down.
He immediately complies and then tilts his head at you.
He knows something's wrong.
Why does he needs to be so observational?
Okay well he's a caretaker for children of course he needs to be.
"Friend are you alright? You seem different then normally! Different different!!"
He quickly starts to inspect you from all around to see if you maybe have any injuries. It immediately relaxes as it didn't saw any and then looks at you while playing with it's fingers
He wants to comfort you! But he doesn't wants to overstep any boundaries, oh how frustrating it is for him to not be able to do anything right now to help you!
You sigh a little and look a but to the side, then back to them.
"Don't worry I just had... A rough day, I am exhausted."
You see his body shift and in a second you are in his arms.
"H-hey Sunny!!" You yelp startled and look up at him with wide eyes as he starts to carry you to the music theater.
"Shush now (Y/N), I will bring you to my room and we are gonna have so much fun!! And Moon can help you rest later!! Yes yes!!"
As much as you love the idea of it, you still have a job to do.
"This is really kind of you Sunny but I still have a job to do"
If they could pout, they totally would.
"But you being happy and rested is more important!! I don't want my friend to be sad and exhausted, no no No!!! I can't let that happen!!"
He was endearing, how much he cared about your well being is so sweet to see, but also slightly annoying since you don't want to be fired from your job.
"But Sunny if I don't do my job I will get fired and then we can't really see each other anymore!!"
This makes him still, well, as much as he can be still. He's still moving from one foot to the other.
He shifts your weight on one if his arms so he can lay his hand on his chin, tapping it as his processor is whirring for solutions.
You watch it with a raised eyebrow and see it literally light up like a lightbulb just went on inside of it.
"Moon and I can do your job when you rest!! Yes yes yes you will still be able to come here then and do fun stuff with us!!"
They spin happily around at their idea and quickly head to the poster with giddy steps.
That's.. actually not a bad idea, you must admit. They both can probably spot anything way quicker then you do so you shouldn't have a problem.
But Vanessa may think something is up when you don't come to your break.
"But what about Vanessa? She will be worried when I don't come to our break.
"Oh Oh don't worry your pretty little head friend we have an idea!!"
Their head spins a little and they chuckle as they open the poster door and go through the long hallway.
You blink a little surprised, you didn't knew there was a door here.
And you are even more surprised at the quite messy room in front of you and you shortly feel Sunny freeze and then shriek and gasp over dramatically.
"Oh I am so sorry sorry sorry it's so messy!! So messy!!"
They gently place you down on a random bean bag in the room before scurrying off to quickly clean the mess and make it presentable, muttering and mumbling quietly.
Suddenly it goes through a tube in the wall and you lean to the side to look into it and... Another room? Huh, you weren't expecting that.
After he cleaned everything there as well he came back to you and scooped you up back into his arms.
"Now better!! Way way wayyy better!! Tadaaa!! My room!!"
He spins a little around with you so you can see everything of it.
He's absolutely adorable as he puffs his chest out proudly and practically glows with happiness.
"It's absolutely lovely here Sunny!! Your room is great!"
You hear a giddy giggle coming from him and him quickly shifting from one leg to the other happily.
He is so absolutely cute and adorable it's the sweetest.
You smile softly as he places you bag down on the bean bag.
"What to do what to do..." It's eyes quickly scan the room, then it starts to bring various items to you and lay them on the ground before you.
Drawing supplies, little soft balls, some childrens books, games.
But then you see a certain card game in the corner of the room when he lifted something from it.
"Yeeeeess?" He looks expectantly to you, tilting his head.
".... Do you know how to play Uno?"
And that's what landed you here.
Sitting on a bean bag across from Sunny who sits in one as well, as you both play Uno.
He's a terrible player, but not in the sense you think he is, no no. They know the rules and follow them very well.
But they just can't keep their cards to themselves.
They show or tell you which ones they have and which ones they draw.
It's honestly very amusing and very cute how excited he gets about showing you them.
You hear your watch peep and look into it, your eyes widening, it's almost 3 am?!
Sunny follows your eyes and sees the time, he gasps exaggerated and jumps up, putting everything quickly away.
"You need some rest now (Y/N)!!"
They immediately interrupted you.
"Please? Please please please please??"
And he was sitting on his knees now, looking up at you.
He would very likely make puppy dog eyes if he could.
You just can't say no to that, you can't see him sad!
"Okay okay okay, I sleep a little."
He immediately jumps up and hugs you tightly, nuzzling his face into your hair.
"Thank you thank you thank you thank you!! Now come, come!!"
He quickly squeezes with you through the tube in the wall and you see a sea of pillows and blankets.
He probably prepared everything when he cleaned up.
It sets you softly down on the soft pillows and puts a blanket above you, tucking you in. You nuzzle into the soft fabric and then see it looking at you, nervously playing with it's hands.
You chuckle and lift the blanket for them.
They immediately get the message and get under it, hugging you tightly and nuzzling against you.
How can he be so adorable?? It's a mystery.
You nestle against him and close your eyes, yawning a little. This is way too comfortable to not fall asleep in, so you quickly descend into the lands of dreams.
Sunny feels your breathing starting to even and he knows your fast asleep, he chuckles quietly at that and holds you close against him.
It wants to enjoy this before it needs to get up to do your duties with Moon.
As you wake up again you feel something shift behind you and two long arms around you.
Someone softly goes over your hair and tells you in a raspy but sift voice to wake up.
You open your eyes half asleep, expecting to see your room but seeing Sunny's and Moons, you blink and turn around, yawning and staring into the eyes of non other then Moon.
He chuckles at your dishelved hair and how sleepy you look and places his forehead against yours.
You chuckle a little and yawn again, closing your eyes and enjoying the closeness.
You really could get used to this.
"How-" you yawns again "late is it Moon..?"
"It's 5:45 dear, I am sorry for waking you up so early but we don't want you to get into trouble for staying so long, hm?"
You hear him chuckle again and you nod, fair.
But getting out of his arms and this bed seems like an impossible task, it's too tempting to just stay here and sleep more, cuddled into his arms.
"... But I don't want to stand up, it's too comfy with you"
He huffs amused "But starlight dear you need to, if not I need to carry you out of here."
You think it over, you don't have anything against that actually.
He laughs and gets out of the makeshift bed, pulling the blanket. Hearing you whine from the lack of his arms around you and the lack of the blanket made him very amused but also... Proud.
He gently lifts you up and cradles you to his chest as he goes through the tube and towards the door.
You look sleepily up at it and can't help to admire it.
Both Sunny and Moon are wonderful, both in their own ways. You could never quit this job because of them, you like them way, way too much.
You would never admit that though.
They kick open the door and close it behind themselves with another swift kick that made you chuckle.
He likes-, no, loves to hear you chuckle and laugh, he loves to make you happy, he loves to have you in his arms, he loves to carry you, he loves how you look at him.
They nuzzle a little the top of your head in an attempt to simulate a headkiss as they head towards the entrance, it already being 5:55.
He stops in front of it and let's you begrudgingly down after a few seconds.
You turn to him and look up at him, smiling softly.
"Thank you, both of you, I... Really needed that today"
He chuckles and ruffles your hair, ignoring that warmth that seems to spread within himself.
"No need to thank us, you know we are here to make sure that you're happy and well."
You chuckle and nod, then you hug him tightly again as you say your goodbye to him.
It hugs you tightly back and shortly lifts you up, bringing it's forehead against yours again, sighing content.
They then let you down again and look a little sad as they wave and head back to the daycare.
You smile sadly but softly after them and then you hear sprinting towards you and get tackled into a hug by... Vanessa?
"Oh thank God you're safe!!"
You hug her back and pat her back akwardly.
"Yes I am but are you alright??" She quickly checks you over and sighs relieved when she doesn't sees anything.
"Can you.. tell me what happened? I am confused.
You watch her a little as she takes a deep breath and nods.
"Well, I was already worried when you didn't came to our break, but then Moondrop came, and he said, I quote "She didn't had a choice, I made her go to sleep" and I thought he killed you or hurted you or some shit"
You can help but snort and try not to laugh at that, Moon knew exactly what he was doing since you know he's not that big of a fan of her.
She pouts at you but can't help and chuckle as well.
"Thank for worrying tho, but Moon or Sunny wouldn't hurt me, not purposefully at least"
She rolls with her eyes smiling.
"Let's head home now, and since I didn't saw your car let me drive you home alright?"
"That would be amazing, thank you."
You sigh relieved and go out with her, greeting the employees that just arrived as you got into her car.
Maybe today wasn't that bad.
