It’s also one of the reasons he’s withdrawn from the world in the northern reaches of Mirkwood because he’s suffered such great loss… Thranduil built this beautiful statue in memory of her and had it placed at the entrance to Mirkwood, which is really the entrance to his realm.

In the books, we never hear anything about Legolas’s mother. We imagine that she was lost to him. We always liked to imagine, as part of a backstory, that she died defending her child, because that’s one of her last binds to Legolas.”

#So I made it through maybe 2 episodes of the White Princess #And I never thought I'd say this - but #I /really/ miss the original White Queen cast #For all that it's a deeply flawed and silly series it had real heart and the cast was great #The White Princess just falls flat - the characters aren't as compelling - and the reuse of the soundtrack is really grating #(All the themes are muddled up and with a story like this that's really not on)#S i g h #The White Queen
