Kicking off Dragon Age Kiss Week again with Morrigan and little Kieran.
The one from last year keeps popping up in my notifications a year later and I gotta say, I'm glad so many people love Momrigan, too.
Based on the "Venus and Amor" statue by Reinhold Begas!
that one tweet that’s like “90% of posts online can simply be responded with I Don’t Think You Should Be Talking About Women Like That”
Actually, no, I don't think that friendships dropping like flies in your late 20s and early 30s because no one has time for that between overwork and family obligations and marriage and kids and partners and the ritual of the time slayer is normal and ok. No I don't think deep conversations and spontaneous adventures being replaced with a tired coffee every six months is a normal part of growing up. I don't think that emotional intimacy and soul bonds disintegrating in the face of practical inconvenience is a fact of life. I think that means something is deeply deeply wrong with our society and I will never forgive it for the friends I've lost

I will get my spark back no matter how long it takes
for @dragonagesapphicweek days 3 & 4: unrequited and reunion
orlesian warden commander/vivienne. is this anything
At the Circle, Austine Caron fell for Vivienne quietly, hopelessly, knowing her feelings could never be returned. Years later, in the chaos of the Inquisition, their paths cross once more.
As the person who got their R keyboard broken and the world mocked me for being forced to use the uwu language as replacement
My condolences
put that back

the four horsemen if the apocalypse was chill
Guys, listen to me, Eilistraee is my fucking. Favorite goddess ever. And the possibilities of a BG3 character being affiliated with Eilistraee are just. They are so good. I can’t believe we as a fandom are sleeping on them. Because Eilistraee is a goddess of freedom.
Minthara, a Lolth-sworn drow that has been disgraced by her goddess, now in a position where she is able to learn about Lolth’s daughter. Knowledge and scripture related to Eilistraee is forbidden and punished in Lolth’s territories. And now that Minthara is not only away from the Underdark, but away from Lolth, she can finally hear the song that has been trying to reach the drow for centuries. A song of freedom, of love, of kindness, of acceptance. A song that does not promise safety or power in exchange for fealty. A song that advises its listeners, rather than ordering its inferiors.
Shadowheart is not enthused about having to run with a follower of a moon goddess — not Selûne, but a moon goddess nonetheless. Rare is the goddess who does not test her followers, who doesn’t ask anything of them but to keep love and light in others’ hearts, who values the intent of their actions rather than their success. Shadowheart doesn’t remember ever experiencing such compassion from someone — perhaps she never did. But it feels nice.
Astarion, whose autonomy was once a forgotten dream, now in the presence of an agent of a goddess of freedom. He doesn’t know anything about Eilistraee, but when he learns, he’s in denial about how much fate has started smiling upon him. Her song is trying to reach him, trying to bolster his confidence, to help him stay positive that he can break his chains. But he doesn’t hear it. Not until much, much later, anyway.
Wyll, the unfortunate debtor of a sly, heartless cambion, occasionally hears a tune carried on whispers of the wind. He’s read of Eilistraee before, but never once thought she would see to aid to non-drow. He doesn’t think to think it could be her, just a trick of his ears. But when he breaks his pact with Mizora, his companion’s smile lifts. “Did you hear it?” they ask him later. And Wyll can’t help his smile.
Karlach hears the song. She hears a voice. She is free and she is ecstatic. Even when confronted by impossible odds, she never loses hope, never loses sight of her fight to stay that way. Eilistraee hears her. She sees her. She is so damn proud of her.
The Absolute and the Dead Three opposed and destroyed by a favored follower of Eilistraee is INSANE — ESPECIALLY in Act 3. Gortash, the Chosen of the god of tyranny, is now directly opposed by a follower of the drow goddess of freedom. Orin, the Chosen of the god of murder, who delights in the senseless slaughter of innocents, at odds with a follower of the drow goddess of kindness. Ketheric Thorm, the Chosen of Myrkul broken by grief, enraged and vexed by his opponent, a follower of a goddess of love. The Absolute, whose sole desire is to subjugate all under one design, eradicated by the agent of a goddess whose own personal war mirrors the struggles of its adversaries.
Cazador, a vampire who built his entire existence and legacy on controlling and subjugating others, who actively and gleefully denies his spawn their voices and autonomy, finally stands on the precipice of getting everything he wants — only to meet his end at Phalar Aluve. A vocal sword sacrificed in the honor of a goddess who dedicated her life to bring love and freedom to those who have been denied it.
I have so much more to yap about. This is several months old and sitting in my drafts but I ADORE Eilistraee.
literally what was the reason for her putting him in this slutty ass shirt. like tell me these aren't basically the same thing.
SHIRAHAMA STRIKES AGAIN!!!!!!!!
do u ever think about corn sweat; and the fact that a large percent of corn grown in Illinois, iowa, etc is grown for ethanol and biofuel; and how solar power would be so many times more effective per acre than this; and how like 90+% of so many rare ecosystems in those states was drained for farm and suburbs (in many cases previously farms).
AND you could still have native plants around and even under the solar panels.
When you see what they did to the Midwest you'll want to fucking kill the corn lobbyists with your bare hands

doing everything in my power to make Lucanis more ethnic
Thinking about how Shadowheart is so thirsty, y'know? She flirts with Karlach and Wyll, pines after Shar, has an incredibly homoerotic dynamic with Lae'zel, dreams about Halsin, and, if prompted, is enthusiastically polyamarous.
All of this is all well and good from a horny standpoint, but I think it also illustrates something important about Shadowheart's personality: No matter how prickly she tries to present herself, she's a lover at her core.
She loves life, even when she attempts to mask this love behind cold violence. She loves cute animals and pretty flowers. She loves her parents, even as she struggles to remember them. She loves her goddess (In her own, fucked up way). She loves trashy romance chapbooks and good wine. She loves her friends, even when they annoy her. She loves herself, after a fashion, and loves her body, loves other people's bodies. Even before fully abandoning Shar, as a partner she's caring, affectionate, even a little girlish and goofy behind the veneer of brooding mysteries.
And these things manifest even after being raised in Shar's cloister, after several decades of trauma and memory wipes. So strong is Shadowheart's love that Viconia literally has to erase her multiple times to build a colder, more callous acolyte. So strong is her love that even when mind wiped and personally guided by the hand of the Lady of Sorrows, she still harbors doubts about the thing that tells her to abandon her love.
It's the love of and for her companions, and the gnawing feeling of absence where her she knows her other loves should be, that ultimately leads her away from Shar. Her first priority after enduring timeless torments in the Shadowfell is affirming her love to a romanced player character. If her parents survive, she abandons what would have almost certainly been a life of fame, fortune, and power to care for them on a cozy farmstead, surrounding herself with the things and people that she loves. And if it comes up, she sees any proposed nonmonogamy not as an indictment of her partner's loyalty or their bond with her, but as a chance for them to spread and share and revel in the love that she holds so dear.
It's no wonder Viconia and Shar were so desperate to control her, to turn her away from Selûne. This is a woman whose love burns so brightly that even the goddess of darkness and loss failed to snuff out her light.
