I've been thinking about this skybound AU for a long time which is WHAT IF Megatron and Optimus fell into Earth together, got captured by the Cobra-la, and escaped together through cooperation

Like instead of Lazerbeak being Megatron's eyes, what if it had been Optimus? Co-dependency oh yes oh yes... Very toxic, but they'll get around! Your red eyes through mine, and blues in yours.

Ever think about how issue #13 and issue #24 mirror each other in that the former Ulchtar takes the name his friend gave him as he first wields Megatron and then in the latter when he remembers the moment he is put in the same situation that gave him the name Starscream he rejects Megatron by reclaiming the name he left behind. Every think about it.

Ever think about it when Starscream lay dying the thing he thinks about is his past friends yet the second Jetfire acts against him he attempts to murder him. Ever think about how violence grinds you down until everything that mattered cease to be as you desperately try to hold onto power. Do you ever think about that Ulchtar let go of Starscream, Megatron and his revenge against Optimus in act of complete self destruction of who he had come to be.

but what if that's not what happens?

what if, after so many years of misery and torment, starscream is able to escape the war, to find the healing that he so desperately needs, to feel like himself again, and he genuinely harbors no ill will towards optimus for his actions, but optimus doesn't feel that he deserves such grace? what if optimus always carries that guilt on his back for decades after everything ends, and every time he looks into starscream's optics, he remembers a mech whose life he unintentionally threw into a hellish whirlwind of abuse and pain and suffering?
