Q U A R T E R B A C K

Ianto closes his locker with a thoughtful hum.  Doesn’t come as a shock to him that the question’s now thrown in his direction, he’s been noticed several times right outside the choir room. As tempted as he is to join he feels his voice isn’t nearly as perfect as the voices in that club.  What they need is a star. Not mediocrity.  Still, he can’t stand there and lie to Finn His mother taught him better than that.

“I suppose I have been.  A little.  ‘S’popped into my head a few times.”

There it is. That LOUD boyish grin that charms and entertains just about anyone he comes across. He’s sure that he can win this guy over. He managed to persuade Puck that it wasn’t all for losers and wussie’s, and he’s quoting there. Sure, they are losers, but they aren’t wussie’s. They go out onto a stage in front of thousands of people and perform, because they know they’re good enough. He takes a step forward, looking down to the kid, who he knows to be Ianto. He learns their names before approaching them. Doesn’t wanna seem completely heartless.

“ uh, hey dude. good.. really good. perfect, actually. “ sam was a little confused as to why finn was asking him about quinn. it was a little awkward really, finn was quinn’s ex. it was just a weird conversation, but he was glad finn seemed to be okay about it. “ how are you and rach? “

                       “ to us, because i would never be here if it wasn’t                           for you and for being a h u g e part of that dream. “

       ❝ hey sam. how are things with quinn? you two seem -- good,           actually. really good. quinn’s less bitchy and you’re more           focused in glee club. ❞

  a soft and slightly over dramatic sigh fell past her lips at his words. he   didn’t get it. she had tried running for president, she had several other   curricular activities under he belt – but nothing that would  really impress    the people at nyada. the school that would further her career. the place   where she had to get started in order to fulfill whatever destiny awaited   her.  but he tried.

          ❝ he shouldn’t be giving chances to other people when we have              nationals right around the corner.❞

         ❝ You practise your singing every minute you can, Rachel. Maybe the others             just want the chance to have a solo. Everyone in that room knows that you’re             the star and that you’re gonna be on Broadway one day but maybe they want             their chance to shine a little. ❞

“Oh, hey man – uh, it’s ALRIGHT. Really, don’t worry about it.”

   “so, are you thinking about joining the glee club?”
