“I can’t even leave the house without freaking out yet, Luna. Going somewhere to talk to a stranger is out of the question. I just need time, that’s all,” he admitted quietly, looking away from her to stare at the wall.

“Well either way, I’m the adult here so you can’t tell me what to do.”

Luna shut the coloring book closed forcefully and got off the bed. She wasn’t stupid. She could tell when something wasn’t going somewhere.

“Fine. But you’re just making yourself worse. You’re going to go crazy, sitting in here alone. Just remember that time isn’t going to do anything if you don’t even want to help yourself. Come on, Lockjaw.” She walked out the door without a second glance, taking the dog with her.

Kyle watched her leave with a frown. He knew that sitting in here wasn't good for him, but what else was he supposed to do? He couldn't go anywhere yet, it was too much trouble; it hurt. He sighed, laying down on the bed, still curled up. Maybe give it a few more days before finding a way to get back to the Institute. It might not be very private there, but Xavier could probably help, if he really needed it.
