McDonaldâs Gospelfest 2003; the first Christian rapper won an award. In 2006 The Drama King, DJ Kay Slay, puts the first Christian rapper on his world famous mixtape, Konquer The World, Vol. 2. Hip Hop icon Ralph McDanielâs airs the award winning video âMommaâs Only Childâ on the Tri-state areaâs most popular video show for urban artists, Video Music Box, another first for a Christian rapper. 2007 saw this Christian rapper win the Underground Music Award. From Carolineâs Club to the Bowery Poetry Club in Manhattan, to rocking hundreds in Louisville, KY to Atlanta to sharing stages with Donnie McClurkin, Ice-T, Vickie Winans and Hezekiah Walker, Q The Prophet is an amalgamation of the streets and the pulpit, easily melding both worlds by honing and putting forth his message in verse with paper and pen. A former drug dealer and gang banger, Q The Prophet gave himself over to the Lord at the age of 14 and became a minister at the turn of the new century, the year 2000. He is the current Youth Leader of his church in Brooklyn, NY. With his forthcoming âSoul Hustlerâs Diary: The Autobiography on Waxâ Q The Prophet sets the stage for a new movement in music, not just Christian rap, with deft lyrical ability, and an explosive stage presence that must be seen to be believed. Make way for the Soul Hustler!
