to defend my 13(?) 14(?) year old self, this can be a quote from someone who’s painfully oblivious. you’re essentially in the same, vast space and you can’t really beg someone to stay or leave. but when you’re desperate to cling onto your source of light, when you limit yourself to a small orbit and think your whole world is ending once the light dims for a while -- you may have a natural tendency to lose all reason.
