hey guys am i late.........

right at the start of the year i played Return of the Obra Dinn. incredible game. wish i could play it again. probably my favorite, though some other highlights include

finally finishing celeste "100%" happened last year, after working on chapter 9 slowly over the course of years! and made my way through the whole first difficulty level of Strawberry Jam too, not sure how much farther i'll get in that but it was a lot of fun and the game has been pretty nice on my new(ish) xbox elite controller

i finally convinced my gf to play deltarune with me after years of her worrying she'd get addicted to it like undertale, this did not come to pass as ultimately we still haven't gotten around to chapters 3 and 4 but toby continues to have that dog in him and i am excited to get around to them once all the stars align

my highest steam playtime of the year was in cookie clicker... i wanted to finally 100% it after a decade of abandoned save files but i did not get there it gets so slow. "highlight" may be generous

i haven't played as much mario kart world as i expected but the time trials are super fun to work on with all the new mechanics, i'm still slowly working on my timesheet every few months and hope to have some decent times to submit to leaderboards eventually !

Happy new year! I'm a little late but better than never. As ever let's start with some honorable mentions!

I don't want to pick a repeat game but TTT continues to be a wonderful part of my life and friendships and I am very thankful for it.

I started playing, or at least got seriously into, Lethal Company early in the year. I never quite got around to grinding for high scores like I wanted to, but the few month period where I'd hang out in the chat of streamers actually doing so was a ton of fun. Huge highlight of the year. Content Warning was a surprising hit as well but was much more social-focused than score-focused.

I've never been much into roguelikes but this year I sunk a good chunk of time into Splatoon 3: Side Order and Balatro. I don't expect I'll ever complete Balatro (I'm here for the yuri though), but I'm still looking forward to streaming Side Order's final palette with no hacks one day!

I played American Arcadia this year and absolutely loved it, a great take on an interactive sort-of Truman Show. Not much more to say it's just great.
