my lancer character for a solstice rain campaign. my first ever time playing lancer! i'm having an absolute blast playing with some incredible people

roslyn holt is a custodian aboard the UNS-CV rio grande. she is personally responsible for the sanitation and upkeep of various areas of the ship, directing subalterns and drones to assist her. her standard issue cleaner gauntlets can spray multi-purpose cleaning solution with a simple haptic gesture, and print disposable gloves directly onto the hand. roslyn loves what she does, and while she isn't combat trained, she likes watching pilot simulation training with staff sergeant garcia, making sketches of the scenarios in her notebook as they unfold.

rescued by a third committe far-field team from an attempted hijacking on a shuttle, roslyn stowed away aboard their vessel and left her oppressive seccomm homeworld behind. now naturalized and granted citizenship within thirdcomm, roslyn is happy to finally belong somewhere, and to fulfil a purpose no matter how mundane it may be.

tricked into her now-squadmate ursa's cockpit by an NHP, roslyn was orbital dropped to cressidium and directed to pilot a spare everest tucked into the drop pod. though her abilities face much doubt from both her squadmates and herself, she's hardier than she looks, and in just her first two combats has displayed a growing aptitude for piloting. whether she has the mental fortitude for it, however, remains to be seen.

her current mech has been nicknamed TaBathA, as a placeholder. her eventual chassis will be an SSC white witch, named sundew. i have drawings of her and will be posting them soon!

the first dog is obviously link. farore's sacred animal in TOTK is the dragon, but let's not kid ourselves- the embodiment of her triforce piece is a dog through and through. link is courageous, stoic, often athletic and fiercely loyal. the construction of his face is just also very canine, with wide eyes that always look uncannily focused and a defined, almost snout-like nose. his locks on the side also kinda read like droopy dog ears.

the second dog is you. the second dog is you, and i say that with confidence because:

well, a. you're on tumblr, saying "you're a dog" and being right is like shooting buckshot-shaped canine-quintessence at the broadside of a barn (she says smugly, not aware that the tiniest bit of doggirlifying shrapnel has grazed her forearm. it is now already too late, and the infection will begin to spread)

and b. link, particularly in the wild era games, is a crazy good forager. if you're even slightly playing the game as intended, i would bet you're wandering around picking up or at least inspecting and evaluating somewhere in the ballpark of 30 or so items within a play session. you are encouraged to learn how to hunt as well, and to engage with natural systems like weather, climbing, etc. to make all of it happen.

the urge to go sniff out shit is strong with these games, even in a series rife with exploration and resource gathering to begin with. it is truly some A+ certified dog-type fun.

i don't care if moros is objectively the better and best torch build, eos is pretty and fun and its daybreaker has really nice visual effects work with most of the olympians that you can't see anywhere else. where selene coat contrasts the typical stock magical girl beauty with the industrial brutality of being a mech suit, eos plays magical girl wonderfully straight, with torches that look like they got ripped directly out of some poor sailor scout's hands. the choices to style the actual flames as dawn-lit clouds is subtle but utterly gorgeous, much like the goddess the weapon embodies.

it's also no slouch mechanically. if anyone misses the frenetic pace of chain lightning on the rail in the first game, i urge them to throw static shock on a build with this weapon and hunt for ares. eos specials can spill blood drops like nobody's business, bringing you up to insane speeds at record times. grisly gain can absolutely support magick spending habits on this weapon- it's costly upfront, but your omegas with this weapon have staying power on par with momus, leaving you with tons of time to proc drops. you can also throw poseidon on special and get crazy wave damage, doubly so if you get lucky enough to use the aforementioned blood drops for arterial spray.

browt strikes me as the type of pokémon to have a crazy intense death stare if you disappoint it. have this baroque ahh portrait of what i imagine this interaction would look like.

within revaal you acknowledge a certain kinship; though the argent skull seeks penance and you vengeance, you pursue your disparate aims with equal fury. the resultant assault can be matched in force only by the sublime light of selene herself.

you can actually attack in the form of whatever animal she turns you into! it does a whole six to eight damage, but it's there! i found out today

the black coat is a fantastic follow-up to exagryph as the "out of place modern weapon" in hades. the theming is just so awesome. if zag is culturally descended from the dandy badboyism of DMC and cowboy bebop, melinoë is most certainly descended from sailor moon, utena and other such magical girl power fantasies. making her modern weapon akin to the adjacent genre of mecha fiction is an excellent idea. i think the selene aspect in particular shows the most perfect blend of those aesthetics.

every time i play it i look at my core boons and gods as the components/pilots of a little voltron robot or megazord.

quite literally they just skin-graft some stuff to your abdomen, boom you're done

i can just put all that urge to grow said hair onto an OC who's comfy with it instead. boom.
