Life Mirror

My hope is on the horizon,

everything that she loves, I can see.

Adrift, I'm pulled slowly closer

as the waves crash down over me.

It feels just like heaven,

'till I'm dragged down to hell.

The night wished for peace,

before the toll of my bell.

I wish I could sink

through all of this black.

I'm floating on nothing

the fear in me growing back.

I could just let go, a deep descent into madness

that would gradually be warmer than this cold, empty casket.

Deeper and deeper, losing sight of the sky.

Take a picture, but don’t take me so soon

You pick just a petal, when you wanna pull out the root.

Staring through the wall, my eyes shift outta focus

What if it takes a part of ME every time they come around?

My persistence dissolved through the days that lay past their due by dates

Past the point of tomorrow was never an option when you’re always running late.

I see castles made of clouds

Float over dreams from another scene

Becoming true like the shadow that reluctantly followed me

A sight for the sore, bruised, tired eyes

Evolve into beauty, and accept your demise.

You grow and you grow, for what other reason than that?

A petal is so young, as it accepts the fate of collapse.

“what is becoming of me” as my roots dangle with elegance and steez, I’m helpless for what’s felt like an eternity
