A God among men is what they believed him to be and so, above them for more than his throne. If it was the same for her majesty, he didn't want to be the reason for her to feel more isolation than she may already feel. There was still the pressure of meeting the parents so to speak, but she had shown him nothing but kindness so far.

So he sat down and made the tension ease from his body with a slowly released breath. Besides, there was something more pressing that needed to be addressed. And the question of just how to do so brought the released tension right back.

"I am so sorry about that. Nanu gets curious about newer faces around the palace and, if she likes you well. She'll be quite playful." The Queen pointed for the panther to go off for now. Once the cat was out of sight she returned her attention to the other. "Are you the guest that I am supposed to meet? I was told I would be meeting someone."

"Um.. I guess so..?" he replied, looking down to his hands as his fingers fiddled together. He'd been led to this room and told to wait, so.. "I didn't think I'd be spending time in the company of the queen of Kemet though. If I knew I'd have tried to make myself more presentable."

Not just the queen, also Atem's mother. Which added a whole other level of pressure.

"Hmm....That does sound like quite the dilemma." Ryou was busy chatting with one of his customers as he served their drinks at the bar, giving a slight hum in the process. "I'm thinking you need to speak with your husband about that one."

The winter days being so short and quickly turning dark had done a number on his energy. His body for whatever reason tended to think that it getting dark in the winter meant that he was pushing himself too hard. As opposed to Spring and Summer when it was still relatively bright by the time he was making his way home. Or it could be that he actually was pushing himself too hard.

But what could he do? He couldn't exactly skimp out on work or school. Not if he wanted to keep doing well in both and living his best life. Today however was time for a much needed and well earned break. Besides, he was dying for a burger!

So when he opened the door and was announced by the jingling of the little bell over it, he was well and truly hungry.

SO, today I got a message from a friend on discord saying the following;

immediately sus, no? well, I got panicky and then played into it because scammers deserve to be fucked with. so, they ask me to add this person and I do.

long story short, be careful. check in with your friends. make sure your account is safe, don't give out your personal info and most definitely DON'T change your email to the one they asked you to changed it to.
