“That’s called being an adult, most people after a certain age train themselves not to completely lose it in front of other people. Otherwise you come off as an attention seeking child begging for someone to look their way. I’m not shaming you for having emotions, I’m shaming you for displaying them for the world to see. Honestly you should be happy I even asked, half of the people around here would probably laugh and say you deserved it seeing you in this state. Good joke, did you get that off a popsicle stick?”

“Do you hear yourself right now? Telling me that it’s only okay to be myself behind closed doors, and that I should stifle the person I am so other people don’t get the wrong idea about me or talk about me behind my back? People cry sometimes, we all cry, we all have emotions, why should we have to bottle them up for appearance’s sake? Why can’t we just be who we are, exactly as we are, the good with the bad, the emotional with the stoic? Maybe if people stopped being so afraid to cry in public that ugly stigma you just spit out would go away.”

“ please tell me you have a long list of designers to consult, because every time i google someone – they’re booked. “ 

“Oh my god of course I do! I already booked Karen Brown as event planner, and I’m sure she has a million other designers in her phone. We so got this, don’t stress.”

Julian nodded to indicate it was okay. “I actually have two majors - psychology and business. Why are you unsure? Or rather why did you wanna switch in the first place? You could still do law school after studying criminal justice, right?”

“You’re a dual major with a criminal justice minor? How do you have time for Greek life?” She brushed her hair back from her face, her cheeks felt hot from crying. “It’s not...well, I did switch, but not...” she sighed, trying to collect her thoughts. “Law school is expected of me, I delayed, I didn’t declare pre-law when I got accepted at CRU. And I have to do it now if I want to graduate on time. And yeah, of course I can, but I won’t get into any ivy’s if I do that.”
