In Stay Tuned for Danger, there is a locked drawer in the desk in Mattie’s apartment, but it cannot be opened with any key found in the game environment. The key intended to open the drawer (which would later be reused in MHM as Nancy’s suitcase key) would have been located in Mattie’s dressing room. The unlocked drawer contains letters written by Mattie pretending to be a fan of Rick. She (as the fan) begs him not to leave LOOL. Finding these letters would place suspicion on Mattie, triggering this conversation:

Mattie: Hi Nancy! We need to talk. I found out you took my keys to get into my desk. How could you? I know you need to investigate and everything, but, I thought we were friends. I thought you could trust me.
Nancy: Oh Mattie, I’m sorry. But I had to find out what was in those letters you’ve been sending to Rick. And why so many. / Sorry Mattie, it’s important that I follow all of my leads, even this one.
Mattie: I understand that. I just thought you could’ve been a bit more considerate. I guess those letters did look pretty mysterious if you didn’t know what was in them. And to tell you the truth, I guess they look pretty silly now that you’ve read them. But I’ll miss Rick terribly if he leaves the show. Hrm. To tell you the truth, I’m still in love with him. But, I need to realize that we’re through, and move one.
Nancy: I’m glad that your secret isn’t as sinister as I thought it may have been.
The key was was never added to the final version of the game, which might have been due to issues with space. However, the key is still in the game files and can be added to the inventory by accessing the developer’s menu. The conversation with Mattie is not available, but Nancy can still unlock the drawer and read the letters. I’m too afraid of inciting HER’s wrath by showing how to access the developer’s menu, but it is a pretty open secret on the internet and a quick google search will allow you to find it ;)
