Lapis frowns. Thanks for callinâ me dumb, Amethyst. âItâsâŚa little more complicated than that, Amethyst.â She sighs. âI know that I should move onâitâs not like Iâm ever going back. And itâs not really the people that I miss. Itâs the place. I couldnât care less about the other gems from back homeâthey never did anything but hurt me.â She waves a hand through the air, focusing on it instead of the stars. Theyâre making her too sad.
âIâll find a new home soon enough. Maybe.â And this âpile aâtrashâ might just be it.
âYour down-and-out attitude is a real bummer. Why donât you try smilinâ for once, huh? I think itâd do you some good. And, heck, it might even give your face muscles a work out! Garnet says those are important, soooo...â Amethyst rubs the back of her neck. âListen... I know leavinâ stuff behind is hard. But if you leave that place in the dust where it belo--ngs, then what do you thinkâll happen to you?â Again, she doesnât wait for an answer. âYouâll be better off! And youâll have a pile aâjunk to keep you company, too. Itâs a win-win.â
