His arrogance and smug attitude were impossible to deflate, and her thick skull and need to be right at all times still hadn't cracked either. He'd run away as he often did. Maybe Kate hoped her words would make him run. Either way, it sucked all the same. He didn't stick around to find a fix to this whole mess.

Not that either was good at apologizing.

Three days had passed. Three days and she was still a little heated over it, even if she told America she wasn't. Her friend never believed her anyway. She'd stared at her phone countless times, written and erased about a dozen text messages to Tommy, and resorted to simply tossing her phone aside just as she had moments ago. Only, this time it seemed to summon him.

He found her in an instant. He called out her name, but gave her no real chance to respond before he zipped into her room and handed her less than presentable flowers.

She knows she shouldn't be lashing out at him. Sobriety was a journey. It would have many ups and downs, but how was she supposed to feel? How many times was she going to have to show up to his apartment and see it vacant? Not even Lucky left behind to take care of. She hoped he was the reason Clint kept going. His lips found hers, possessive and full of longing behind his movements. Hands gripped her hips, guiding her to where he wanted her to be until her back slammed against the wall of her apartment elevator.

Her arms snake around his neck, cementing herself ot his frame and deepening the kiss. So maybe there was another argument had in the car leading up to this. Be careful. I worry about you. You did look damn good kicking ass, though. All of it led to built-up tension between the two that, for better or worse, excited them.

It wasn't long before they stumbled into her actual apartment. Shoes were kicked off and tossed aimlessly aside along with an article of clothing with every few steps.

Her back finds a wall again with a loud thud. She almost laughed at the sound and surprise in force she met it with, but her momentary distraction was taken away once again by his lips against hers. Fingers instantly reach up to grab a fistful of his hair. Years of skilled practice have her balancing on the tips of her toes with ease. Not that it mattered for long when he decided to whisk her away and carry her to her bedroom to truly settle the score.
