Doing things when you don’t feel motivated
Waiting until you “feel motivated” is one of the biggest traps keeping you stuck. We assume that motivation leads to action. But neuroscience reveals it’s actually the opposite, action creates motivation. And doing things especially when you don’t feel like it rewires your brain in powerful ways that boost your mindset, open doors and lead to lasting success
You’ve probably heard of dopamine, the “motivation molecule” in your brain. It plays a key role in desire, drive and goal pursuit. But you don’t need to feel motivated to get dopamine, you need to take action
When you take action your brain releases dopamine afterward, reinforcing the behavior and making it more likely you’ll do it again
This is called “self generated dopamine.” And it’s how habits are built
So when you push yourself to go for that walk, send that email, or post that content without feeling like it your brain rewards you afterward, not before. You just flipped the script because your brain learns that you are in control, not your feelings. This means fewer spirals of procrastination and more consistent action
The people who achieve more, connect more and grow faster aren’t always more talented they’re just more consistent. And consistency comes from doing the work even when you don’t feel like it
It’s how momentum is built
It’s how visibility is built
Its how opportunities show up
If you want a tough love synopsis then look at it like this, every time you let your feelings win it means you are not in control and don’t have power over your own life. Sounds ugly right? I’m sure you probably don’t want that
Waiting for motivation keeps you invisible. Taking action even imperfectly keeps you moving forward
Motivation is a side effect, not a requirement
When you act without feeling ready, you’re building a growth mindset, a more efficient brain and a life that’s shaped by your choices and not fleeting emotions
And that kind of power changes everything
You don’t need to be motivated to build a great life
You need to act when it’s inconvenient, uncomfortable, and uninspiring because that’s when you’re rewiring your brain. That’s when you’re becoming the version of yourself that gets results. That’s when magic happens
Why you feel bad when you set boundaries (And why that’s actually a good sign)
If you’ve ever set a boundary and immediately felt guilty or worried about how others would respond, you were having a very common emotional response, especially for people who are used to putting others needs before their own. Setting boundaries isn’t just about saying “no” it’s about redefining how you relate to the world around you. And that can feel uncomfortable sometimes
Many of us were raised to believe that being kind means being agreeable, that our worth is tied to how much we can give, accommodate, or tolerate. If you grew up being praised for being “low maintenance” or the one who always kept the peace, then setting a boundary can feel like you’re doing something wrong. But you’re not. You’re simply just honoring yourself in ways you might not have been allowed to in the past
Another reason boundaries feel bad is the fear of rejection. We wonder, What if they leave? What if I’m being too much? What if I lose their love or approval? The right people will respect your boundaries. Setting limits doesn’t push away healthy relationships, it filters out the ones that were conditional to begin with
A lot of people also confuse boundaries with being mean. But being honest about what you need is clear, not cruel. Saying “this doesn’t work for me” isn’t an attack. It’s self awareness. You’re not trying to control anyone else’s behavior. You’re just stating what you need in order to feel safe and respected
If this feels especially hard, it might be because you’re breaking a lifelong pattern. People pleasing can become a survival mechanism, and choosing to unlearn that will feel unnatural at first. That doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong, it means you’re finally doing it differently
So if you feel bad after setting a boundary, don’t panic. That reaction is simply your nervous system adjusting to a new way of showing up. Remind yourself this because you will instinctively probably feel uncomfortable or guilty and want to back track. You’re not being selfish. You’re learning to include yourself in your own life
People low standards are obsessed with how they are seen
People with high standards are obsessed with how they are treated
People don’t realize how one mistake can completely take them off their path. Not the ones out of their control, but the ones where they knew better. The moments when they ignored their intuition, acted on impulse, or chose comfort over discipline. Those are the mistakes that haunt you because deep down, you saw the red flags, you felt the hesitation, but you did it anyway. And just like that, you're set back— months, even years. One wrong relationship, one bad investment, one moment of laziness— is all it takes

Subtle ways to change how people view you:
Lean in slightly to appear more interested in the conversation
Speak slower and softer if you wish to seem like a dream / at peace
Keep your bag organized, when you reach to grab things out of it you’ll seem more put together if there’s little to no struggle to find things
Using a fragrance oil on your wrist and under your ears will seem more Sophisticated than spraying yourself with perfume
Read poetry, keep a select few favorites in your mind. When people ask what you enjoy, say poetry and provide an example. You’ll appear more emotionally intelligent
If you’re going to fake smile, move the muscles under your eyes so that your cheeks raises enough to halfway squint. It seems more genuine that way.
Walk with your head up everywhere. And I mean everywhere.
Stop messing with your little imperfections only you notice. There’s no need to straighten your shirt, rub your hand down your pants etc. Leave it be and you will appear more confident.
