And here is my final zine for the batsford prize competition!

Here are all three of my final gifs for the live brief.

Here is my progress video for my first gif!

I used the website calligraphr and then downloaded and imported it onto my software. I found that having my own handwriting allowed me to make it personal but also quicker to use and legible.

I added an illustration of myself working and also the linework from some of my work. I wanted to make the colours match or be similar to the colours which I use in my work. I tried to compose the cv as if it were an illustration itself and make it pretty enough to catch people’s attention and not want to throw it away.

Here is the progress video of my second gif, I loved the linework in this which is why I chose to use monochromatic colours to highlight it.

This is my favourite method to create linework as it brings an innate character and realness to your characters that you have no control over.

Landing in canoe lake, I feel like the imaginativeness of having the swan gondola come to life and flying around is playful. It’s a nice way to visualise a city which is full of so many creative people as the creative community is definitely one of the main factors of what makes Portsmouth what it is.

The second sketch they are flying above the city and in the last one I want the two friends to be landing in our local canoe lake where as they land now their seagull is a swan gondola like the ones that are on canoe lake! With possibly some kites as we have a kite festival in the common every year too which shows the contrast between city and scenery we have here in portsmouth!

Maison Margiela is a French fashion brand founded by Belgian fashion designer Martin Margiela. The fashion house produces couture pieces for runway and ready to wear designer outfits. Producing a lot of garments which were/are not of the style of it’s time, the anti-fashion brand- (edit later to be continued)

It displays the walk down to gun wharf quays, our local landmark the spinnaker tower and Portsmouth football club logo on the football which is being kicked over from the playing fields.
