boondock saints 2 is an insane sequel not only when you think about the messaging of the first movie but also when you think about how billy connolly is doing an ENTIRELY different movie to the one sean patrick flannery and norman reedus are doing.

flannery and reedus are doing a macho man bad ass shoot'em up movie with religious tinting where they get to be racist and crass and stick it to the "pansy ass soft boys" ruining america

connolly is doing a film about immigration post ww2, organized crime, the creation of a cycle of violence, the betrayal of a friend so close he could've been your lover in another life, and your children being unable to escape what was forced into your blood because you weren't there to protect them from it just like your father couldn't protect you from it

it's baffling i'm not sure what troy duffy's fucking problem is

#duffys been riding the high of writing louie and noah for bout 30 years now #he’s been writing the same scene with them and adding something new on the side each fuckin time.#like the comics and the book man cmon 😭😭😭#he knows noah and louie are lowkey the best part of the lore and has been finding more ways to make their dynamic actually gay.#like noah being the one to make louie’s leg brace for example. 🏳️‍🌈#but for every new detail. the twins become more homophobic. idk what that’s about #but mind you this movie got shat on (bc it’s bad) and duffy blamed PC taking over hollywood #he felt this way before its release and i think thats why the twins are literal shells of themselves from the first movie.#idk he’s always had a chip on his shoulder because he couldn’t be more racist in his work and wonders why no one wants to work with him #read two seconds of blood origins and you see why the tv show for it was canceled #IDK!!! it feels like the series itself starts to focus more on the twins badassery than the reason WHY they’re badasses #like guys let’s be real the saints killed like 5 guys and then hid in ireland for years. what are we saying #in summary idk what duffys problem is but i have a hypothesis #he can write a crime thriller but he can’t keep his bigotry to himself because he’s a living oxymoron #and i think he craves the touch of a man. but we don’t have time for that #bds posting
