Getting this photo was quite a challenge for me because I hate walking on ice and to get to this bear, I had to walk on ice that sometimes cracked beneath my feet! But there was a silver lining in that grey sky. As photographers, we like to be eye level with our subject but kneeling or lying down was not an option since this would have drawn unnecessary attention to us.
