I’m so fucking happy that i was able to get the MK bag and wallet. I literally just walked right out of the store and no one payed attention to me lmao

And I was escorted back to the store by them. They accused me of lifting a bottle of perfume (which I did), however, I made sure that the camera didn’t see me but obviously the manager on duty did. I was apprehended about 30 minutes after leaving the store near another store in the mall by the police (not even mall security WTF)…. I didn’t lift anything else from anywhere else but they searched my purse and my other shopping bags for Aerie merchandise. This was done at the front of the store in front of other customers smh… All of this was for ONE fragrance (and I made a purchase inside the store as well so I was really confused as to why the shit had to go that far). If the bitch saw me lift the perfume she could’ve asked for it back and I would’ve chucked it at her noodle neck ass. Nevertheless, since I avoided the cameras (near the register), they didn’t see me physically conceal the perfume and released me with an apology (from the cops), but kept the perfume just because I didn’t have proof of purchase for it – (they found it in my bag, but I lied and said I had it on me the entire time). So since they didn’t see me on camera they had to release me and I wasn’t charged nor trespassed from the mall or American Eagle. It technically qualified as a bad stop and people were telling me to sue them. Moral of the story is: ALWAYS AVOID CAMERAS even if a store doesn’t have LP. What you should’ve learned from my story: • American Eagle/Aerie do NOT have loss prevention. • They will call the police or mall security on you if they see you conceal (the manager on duty can only do that). • If there isn’t any camera footage of you, it will be the employee’s word against yours and then you will not be arrested, charged, or banned. This is why it is also very important that you know your rights/state laws. I didn’t have to consent to their illegal search and seizure since they did not have camera footage on me and the store did not follow the 6 steps to apprehending a shoplifter. I could’ve contested the search and seizure, but I chose to cooperate and it did in fact work in my favor. This isn’t going to stop me from lifting, it just made me smarter for the next trip. hey liftblr, I really want a fitbit to lift but I dont know where to lift it? Im not about to get my ass kicked by Target or Best Buy. Do you guys have any tips?

this might be a no brainer to some. there are accounts going around messaging us people in the lifting community! what they will do is message you trying to relate/start convo! theyll say anything like “hey i live in your state too!” or like “i love your hauls, where did you get ____” keep in mind these accounts are NOOOT liftblr accounts, but accounts specifically like kawaii accounts that just want to social engineer you into giving them information about yourself!! theyll say they live in your state ask you where you live specifically, act interested in what you lifted and forward your information to police deps in your area. please please be aware! better safe than sorry, dont risk anything. you’ve been safely lifting for a long time dont slip up by letting some wannabe e-hero.
