The little puppy seemed oblivious to Hilbert’s amazement - it seemed content to curl up in Hilbert’s arms and watch the scenery.

Hilbert got a shiny Lillipup?!

If you’ve played Thr.ee Houses - he’s the Ferdinand to Hilbert’s Edelgard. 

Meaning; he has this mindset that anything Hilbert can do, he can do better. Like he’s competitive to a fault and will do anything he can to show Hilbert up.

Actually kind of jealous that Hilbert got as lucky as he did during his run through the Unova League. And also that Hilbert’s so much taller than him, what the heck-

After Unova caught wind of the events leading up to Ghetsis’ defeat and N’s disappearance, Hilbert gained ‘Hall of Famer’ status. He gave the Champion title back to Adler, but it doesn’t erase the fact that he beat the Elite Four in what could arguably be record time.

Another title that was coined for Hilbert arose once people caught wind of how Hilbert only caught the first Pokémon he encountered in each new area. This, paired with his unbelievable record of finding Pokémon with the best possible natures (or what are known as ‘neutral natures’), earned him the title ‘Wild Card.’

Squints. 

He’s not familiar with this Pokemon at all, but he thinks he can just make out something like a sparkle. A sparkle similar to how Jasper would make his appearances. And since Jasper’s a shiny...was it any wonder HIlbert would try to catch it?

...Just to be certain, he would have to check with someone who’s more familiar with Sinnohan Pokemon than he was.
