Pudding the Raichu

[⚡] “Ah– n-no that’s not wh-what I me-mean–” the smaller mouse squeaked out nervously. Oh, he didn’t mean it like that! What a way to make a good first impression.

The little Pikachu’s ears perked slightly once the berry was broken in half, one part of the fruit held out to him by the Raichu. He wasn’t expecting to get some in return for helping him out, but he reached out a paw to grip the Pecha Berry.

“Thanks, Pudding. You, um… didn’t have to. I don’t really… expect anything in return… I just wanted to help you get your food but… I appreciate it, still.”

Ooooh, a competition! That sounded fun! Ditto was in!

Hm… What Pokemon would be best suited for this kind of competition? A strong Pokemon, for certain, that could knock down lots and lots of berries at once. Okay!

Ditto Transformed!!! into a Mudbray! Its powerful legs would surely knock down lots of berries, and it wasn’t a bit Pokemon that could get in the way, like a Mudsdale. Ditto trotted around Pancake excitedly, sniffing it and hopping a little bit with excitement, waiting for it to show the way.

Let’s play! Where to?

Ditto nodded eagerly. A game? Ditto liked games! Hide-and-seek was a good one, since Ditto could blend in literally anywhere, just so long as it acted the part. There were often times it got lost because of its curiosity, though…

Oh, maybe tag, then? Ditto could be fast, like a Pikachu or Growlithe!

Or tail-chasing! Ditto could have as many tails as a Vulpix or Ninetales and play whatever!

Ditto was so excited. What better way to make new friends than to play games together? Would they shoot lightning as a competition? Would they race to see who was faster? Would they find berries or sticks to play with in the forest? The possibilities were endless!

“So there’s some berry trees within my territory that are just about ripe by now. I was thinking we could see who could knock down the most berries and whoever gets the most to drop after two hits wins!”

Of course he’d happily share the fallen fruit with his new friend, he’s not greedy. Why not have a little fun while getting a snack?

[⚡] It was the least he could do to help out the struggling other rodent. He often lent a paw whenever he could, no matter how small the problem appeared. That was just the kind of Pokémon he was. The Pikachu gave a nod from the tree he was still perched in, looking down at the happy Raichu below. It caused a smile to form as he began to climb back down.

He hopped down once he was close to the ground, landing softly on the grass before his gaze turned back to the larger male. He wasn’t used to such praise but it made him feel good to know that he was able to aid the stranger–now known as Pudding–out.

Even if it was just giving him a berry he was hungry for.

“It’s no problem… I heard you fall and came to see what was going on…” Rai answered, finally speaking up. His tone was quiet and soft as he was often rather soft-spoken. “My name’s Rai.”

Embarrassment slowly crept onto the Raichu’s face as he used his free paw to rub the back of his neck rather sheepishly. The Pikachu heard him fall? Yeesh, time to lay off the extra berries for a while! “Eheh, I didn’t realize I was so heavy.” He giggled, looking down at the berry in his left paw he thought for a moment before slowly breaking the berry in half.

Ditto giggled and Transformed into a different Pokemon, just to prove that it didn’t need to use electric powers to communicate. Hmm, what’ll it be this time? Oh! How about a Sentret? Ditto always liked being Sentret. Cute and simple, just how it liked it!

So Ditto did just that, bouncing on its new, fat, fluffy tail and happily grinning at the strange brown Raichu.

Steal your face? Ditto didn’t steal faces. It copied them! Raichu’s face was still there, wasn’t it? Ditto frowned a little sadly at that, but it couldn’t stay sad for long. After all, Raichu was being very kind despite that! It was hard not to stay happy, having a new friend.

Ditto hopped down from its tail and sat on the ground, waiting for Raichu to make a move. Ditto wanted to play, but that was up to Raichu. So, Raichu, what now?

Once again Pudding was a bit taken back by the transforming that Ditto could do but he didn’t step back like before, instead he was curious as to what it would become next.  This time it wasn’t an electric type, he was certain of that...it was a cute and brown fluffy thing, another Pokémon foreign to him.

[⚡] The sound of the thud had caught his attention. The Pikachu made his way over to see what was going on, only to find a Raichu that had apparently fallen from the tree, unaware of the psychic powers he possessed. He had yet to ever meet a Raichu like the brown-furred one.

His gaze drifted up towards the branches to see a Pecha Berry. He was probably trying to get something to eat and had fallen down while trying to get his meal. The smaller mouse scurried up the other side of the tree, plucking the fruit off before letting it fall to the ground beside the strange looking Raichu.

Pudding had been so preoccupied stewing in his annoyance that he hadn’t even noticed the Pikachu’s presence. Only when the Pecha berry fell next to him did his ears perk up and he pushed himself up to sit.  Finally! He looked up. ready to taunt the retched tree for making him go through that only to pause, noticing the yellow rodent within it!  A fellow chu, that as a surprise to say the least! Had he helped him just now?

Oh! He looked like this,

Ditto didn’t know what this Pokemon was. It looked like a Raichu, but different. And it smelled of pancakes! Mmmm… Now Ditto was hungry.

But for now, this Pokemon was more important. It let the round-looking Raichu sniff at it before it used Transfooooorm!!!

Now it looked like a little Dedenne! If this Pokemon was a Raichu, surely it could receive transmissions like Dedenne’s. Dittenne flicked its whiskers, sending Raichu a short message.

Ditto!

Am mute.

There. That should suffice. Ditto’s replicated abilities weren’t nearly as good as the original’s, but it was working on it. Maybe someday Ditto could become a perfect copy of Dedenne and communicate long-distance!

Den is clean, berries have been scavenged, no random intruders lately! Perfection!

It’s Char that makes him aware of the pokemon, the dragon’s snout gesturing lightly towards their guest.

Pudding had made an attempt to paw at what he thought was the cotton candy on the man’s cape however he quickly abandoned that plan the moment he was spotted, jumping back a little when the human knelt in front of him.  “Raichu?” His right ear twitched slightly as he gave Leon a curious look. He didn’t seem upset, perhaps he didn’t notice his pawing?
