I'm going to buy a paperback version of the Starless Sea and take it apart.

Book covers for Sweet Sorrows and Fortunes and Fables will be handmade.

My Sweet Sorrows will be a "newer" edition, meaning I won't try to make it look worn like it is described in the Starless Sea. I'm going to use burgundy book cloth and cardboard, and make gilded title lettering, but leave the pages regular.

For Fortunes and Fables, I'm going to do a cardboard and leather, more traditionally hardcover style cover and add gilding to the pages.

For my edition of the Ballad of Simon and Eleanor, I'm going to take a PDF of it and edit it to a handwritten-looking font, then print accordingly. I'll do a floppy cover from dark blue leather, gild the pages, and hand-write a title page in cursive to give it a more "real" handwritten feel.

For the "written in the stars" pieces, I'll make precice tears from my paperback Starless Sea and fold them into little stars.

Okay! So! Sorry, no pictures this time. Just got the desk all configurated, and I can finally start working on bookbinding projects.

Here is the current plan:

For "Sweet Sorrows" and "Fortunes and Fables" I may have to re-bind the signatures, based on how I cut them out of my paperback "Starless Sea". If I do, I'll be using a simple French Link and Kettle stitch method. Backings will be Mull fabric, and endbands will be hand-sewn old school. I'm doing burgundy and white for "Sweet Sorrows" and as close a colour match to my pleather for the "Fortunes and Fables" cover. Endpapers will be long-grain 120 cardstock, burgundy and brown respectively.

For guilding, I'll be using a Couture Creations heat foil pen, gold foil from KellyFoils off Etsy, and borrowing a heat stamp-press (idk the brand) from my uncle.
