actually thank god ltc isn't a main character because if I have to deal with kh4 hype and ltc getting main character treatment at the same time in an ongoing season you'll all be sick of me. I'LL be sick of me
wait a minute. guys. what if the unchained memories namine talked about in com is now ALL that sora remembers now that he himself is "unchained" from reality..................
"please let your imaginations run wild while you await further updates" LMAO
destiny trio really boils down to: what if the chosen one wasn't worthy? what if the princess wants to be a knight too but is trapped by the nature of her princess-ness? and what if the hero has fallen from the beginning and we never address their trauma/rage?
and it's like. how can the princess be a knight if the knights keep saving her? how can the chosen one regain their worth after turning back on their destiny? how long can the hero keep smiling and assure everyone he's good when he is bringing his own unchecked darkness and it's starting to hurt others and swallow him up? (turns out: a REALLY long time, but the brighter the light...)
kh fandom loves to clown on nomura for keeping destiny trio separate all the time but I kinda think that's the point. they're growing apart and they have to realize that's not necessarily a bad thing? the princess can't stand on her own if someone is always there to save her. the hero who relied on his connections also has to learn how to be alone. destiny will always find the chosen one and he was bound to leave that tiny island either way, with or without his friends
anyway so I think the natural conclusion to kh is if they permanently get separated by realms but are always connected through friendship, symbolized by the paopu fruit. actually yeah I think that's why sora and kairi had to eat the paopu fruit. I could be wrong but I think sora, having to face the consequences, is not coming back to reality. sora's fate is to be in (perhaps, go back to?) unreality, kairi in reality, and riku in the realm between

also geoff (game awards guy) tweeted this sooooo... the signs are all there!! they're showing us a new kh4 trailer I'm like 99% sure of it now. also I would looooove to see a behind-the-scenes look because for real kh existing at all is nothing short of a miracle. you could NOT get another square enix × disney × utada hikaru level of collab in this day and age that could last for 25+ years and still feel like it has an earnest and sincere story to tell
the way we got all that news and the actual kh panel hasn't even happened yet. so does this mean... utada hikaru song tomorrow.......... 🙏🙏🙏
I'm supposed to gm a game later HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO FOCUS WHEN KH IS ON MY MIND RAAHHHHHHHH
Ring ring! ☎️
I WILL NOT BE SHUT ABOUT THIS FOR WEEKS.

It feels like ever since Sora disappeared, I’ve wanted something like this. Coco’s Land of the Dead is my ideal world for KH4 - the theming and environment would fit beautifully.
There are so many interesting concepts to be explored with Sora and his friends on opposite sides of reality. I’ll try not to dream too big, but I’m excited for what’s next.
LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOO
are we ready guys (im not)
NEVERMIND WE ARE SO BACK
Thanks to my friend @composerunknown for making the kh edit of this meme format for me so I could be Paul Revere 🙂↕️
okay so the rumors were indeed true. we're getting a kh anime AND IT'S AN ORIGINAL SERIES which means this is probably missing link (or mobile games in general, because not everyone got into those) omgggggggg and also we got a kh4 trailer and it's LATE 2027 oh my god we're still getting that physical playstation disc despite sony's bullshit. never kill yourself!!
just made a post about kh making like half the cast clones so heres some clones for you

A timeline of Kingdom Hearts in a nutshell:
KH1: whimsical disney adventures :) there's some danger but everything works out in the end!
KH4: This Teenager Must Suffer in Purgatory for his Sins
For many years, people have insisted that the relative flatness of Kairi's character is a flaw in the storytelling of Kingdom Hearts, but honestly, I disagree. That flatness is at the heart of the narrative-- the simple, supreme power of unconditional love is, by its very nature, uncomplicated. You don't need to jump through the hoops of social theory to understand why a girl like Kairi would be very close to the heart of the world.
BUT that flatness comes with other dimensions. You can't have power without sacrifice, and Kairi's power to save others comes at the cost of being literally imprisoned and being denied common avenues of personal growth.
See, light is the power of love, but darkness is the power of desire, that which must be obtained in the world beyond. Even though it's darkness that attracts others to Kairi's light, it's also darkness that pulls them away from her. This is the root of her fear of abandonment. Kairi longs for company and security that won't run away when something more interesting appears on the horizon, but she also is fundamentally restricted from any act that would keep people near her.
This is why Naminé's a "special Nobody". There is no darkness to form a Heartless, no secret drive that can power her beyond the estrangement of heart and body. The only things that belong to her alone are things that can't be changed anymore: memories, the foundation of love. She can only control people by keep them fixated on her the same way she is forced to fixate on them.
In short, the argument of Kairi's character is that there is no fate imaginable worse than being a Disney Princess: in a state of perpetual perfection, as ordered by the world itself, without hope or despair. You have been made the vessel of a love far older than yourself, and then punished for containing it. Even your most estranged self is ultimately just a broken mirror crying alone in her room.
Kairi isn't being written in a misogynistic way, she is an intentionally placed victim of cosmic, in-universe misogyny: the cage placed around the personal, sexual, and reproductive potential of those considered too useful to be free. She's the KH answer to the intellectual framework of the world of Disney: a real princess stranded from the "perfect world" where establishing women as a class isn't oppressive.
Kairi is what happens when Sleeping Beauty wakes up, leaves the kingdom forever, and finds herself lost because she was never taught how to want for herself.
