He did a mess and ran to bring the broom and started swiping.

I just finished building a new toy for my son. I was almost as excited as he would get when he finds it tomorrow. In the midst of the unboxing, tearing the plastic wraps and all I heard a little voice telling me that I'm spoiling him with material stuff he doesn't need. Which is true. And I never felt more guilty in my life. Stuck between work and errands/housekeeping and torn between family time and mommy time - I barely actually spend time with him... if we're lucky we play together an hour and then we gotta catch up with the house and all (I'm slightly OCD with keeping the house neat and I get irritated when I see toys all over the house, cushions on the floor).......and then it's shower/bedtime. Overall, as much as I hate to admit, he is a difficult child. He's hyper, strong, energetic and has an attitude - all a little too much for his age. BUT I noticed he's calmer and so much more obedient when I take a few days off which we spend together and I'm actually there and I'm not tensed and tired and we just play. Yeah, I know sometimes kids are assholes just to draw our attention, I'm not trying to say anything new here - I haven't discovered something i didn't already know. It just hit me so hard today and made me feel depressed for becoming one of those parents who don't spend much quality time and replace their "presence" with presents. Perhaps it's a good thing I realized so early so I could make up sooner and not let myself fall into that "trap". New Years resolution it is then. To a more present mother, a calm and more patient mother. Cheers.

A shoebox. Yes, out of all the toys they have, all the money you spent on them to be happy... they get excited and keep themselves busy with a shoebox!!!

If you know what I mean.....

I don't want to talk about racism, I don't want to talk about the economy, I don't want to talk about world peace, I don't want to talk about the education system, medical care, the environment or animals. I want to talk about females. - pun intended - Yes, the women who gladly took advantage of their right to vote and voted for someone who sees them as... just a female. Barely a human, a piece of meat who oughts to be a mans slave. A mans cooking, washing, sex machine. A maid that looks like.. I'd say Beyoncé but I guess for men like him you must be of lighter skin tone. You may foolishly do not feel ashamed for your choice, and I understand you may not be educated enough to care and respect the women before you if not anything else, they fought for YOU to have the right to vote. I'm not suggesting you should have voted for the first woman running for a presented either, don't get me wrong. Politics is politics and whether a woman is running for president, a black or whoever, I am realistic enough not to expect major changes in any aspect. However, dear woman who voted for Trump, you personally disgust me. Not for any political reasons or because you are probably a racist. No, but because in the eyes of women all over the world, in the eyes of our grandmothers, great grandmothers and so forth, you dear female American citizen are a disgrace. I would like to hear your translating the man's language, the man's views on women to your innocent daughter. And if you have sons, then I'm glad so far I have no daughter to ever meet them. In the meantime, the rest of us women, we will be struggling to raise our sons to be the opposite of your favorite party running for president and love and respect women for the amazing, miraculous HUMAN beings that we are, and moreover understand and respect all people regardless of their skin color, cultural background and/or sexual preferences. Oh! And certainly regardless of their social class!!!!

Don’t you dare tell me that you haven’t held the bottle with your chin, a pacifier in your mouth so you are fast to put it in your baby’s mouth when the milk is finished in order to have a free hand to your self to *insert task(s) here* AND most importantly because if you’d lost that pacifier you’d hate yourself

This time last year..

When you have a baby/toddler/kid and it's nap time you have 3 choices: you either seize the opportunity for alone time, rush to clean the house/cook/etc or take a nap too. And the thing is, no matter what you decide to do, you'll regret not taking advantage of your time doing the other thing you could do.
