Related to making posters and advertisements, they dream of critical acclaim. Maybe the ritual will help them produce painting worthy of recognition by the academy?”

Really cool ask I recieved inspired me to kinda explain what went to Psyche designe and especially reason for their butterfly wing.

Meta reasons:

Some of you mythology nerds might have quess this they named after a Psyche, the immortal wife of Eros, that was often depicted having butterfly wings. Oblivious reason for this is the fact they both are in relationship with god, but it goes a bit deeper than that. Her name means "soul" in ancient greek and is a basis for words like PSYchology or PSYchiatry being, in a way, sciences about healing human soul. This ties into Psyche being a surrealist, the movement inspired by Freudian psychoanalisis, and also their struggles with mental health in relation to their ability.

In universe reason:

Okay so hear me out. We don’t have the game full story yet, and propably won’t for a while, and I have a terrible case of „I can fix him” syndrom, so why not have so fun! First I think Doorman already change his outlook on humanity since his torture demon days. Yes, he love tormenting living shit out of his adverseries from time to time, everyone needs a hobby. But right now he isn’t only guided by his bloodlust, he seems curious about us. This might be so he can know his prey better, but hey, this could be fine place to start. What if, against his own better judgment, he started growning fond of centain humans and maybe human race as well. Like a child observing ants in their backyard, at first discusted, then becoming fascinated by them. It’s absurd, such a advance entity being so enamour by such a simple, meek creatures, but it happened. Like I love this man being a little shit but I also really like this idea.
