Ruth felt her jaw drop as she read and re-read the text, she needed to keep an eye of her sister a bit more... If only just to keep her safe from this psycho.

Marianne looked up, not expecting to bump into Dahlia. She’d hoped not to see her again, honestly. “Call me Ms. Chau.” She corrected a little icily, not wanting to go by Powell anymore and hoping that Ross hurried up and signed those damn papers so she could be free. Her gaze drifted down to her baby, reaching to pull the pushchair hood a little further to subtly stop Dahlia looking at her. “Yes, well, I’m sure they will.” She murmured, glancing at the girl’s stomach. “I really have to go.”

Dahlia could tell by the way the woman looked at her that she knew the truth now. Though the thing that hurt her was seeing how Marianne tried to protect the baby from her. “I was hoping she’d have a relationship with her sister.” She murmured, but she took a small step away from her. “Though clearly you don’t want that.”

“Yeah,” Brooklyn agreed as she looked up, “Yeah definitely looks like rain. Tis the season for shitty weather.”

“I like the rain... It’s cleansing.”

“Looks like it to me.” Brianne agreed, nodding as she followed the others’ gaze upward.

Willa smiled gently, closing her eyes. “I know it’s weird, but I love rain.”

“I think so…” Kayla glaced up, biting her lip. “Good thing I brought my umbrella.”

“Smart, I totally didn’t expect it to rain.” Willa murmured.

“Ugh, yeah.” Georgia made a face. “Great.” She hated the rain.

“Not a fan?” Willa asked, looking at the other.

“Oh, I’m sorry!” She exclaimed. She had bumped them with little Scarlett’s buggy as she had attempted to manoeuvre it around a big group of gossiping locals. She hadn’t gotten fully used to pushing it around yet and Scarlett was so little still, being premature, that Marianne was worried about every bump and turn. Luckily she hadn’t needed the longest hospital stay and they had been able to rest in their new flat, this being Mari’s first outing back into the real world.

Dahlia bumped into the pram, looking at Marianne and forcing a smile on her face. “Hi Mrs. Powell.” She said softly, looking at the little baby in her pram. Technically, she would be Lily’s half-sister, not that Marianne knew that. “Wow, she’s so cute.. I hope my baby is that cute.” She chuckled, looking at her stomach. She was nearing eight months now so she was getting pretty big.

She nodded, turning to grab some drinks from the fridge, passing one over to Juniper and then sitting back down with a little sigh, opening her can.

Juni watched Max, smiling softly as she handed her the can. “So besides the obvious... How have you been? I feel like we’ve been really distant..”

Maxine wondered how long it would be before she was able to get back into training. “Well, you know me, life of the party.” She tried to joke, then her thoughts went back to the Halloween party and her smile faltered. “Uh, do you want a soda or something?”

“Oh always.” Juni laughed softly, though she saw how her friend’s smile faltered. “Sure, that would be great.” She nodded.
