love is all she's ever known. she was the third born of four children and the only daughter of a wealthy man in oil trading. she grew up comfortable with the life her parents gave to her. she had everything she wanted and then some. her older brothers were always protective of her, and for the most part, they always stepped up if and when she needed them to and sometimes when she didn't.
she was a normal teenager, a little more rebellious than most, but it came with the overprotective big brothers and a father who always seemed to know her next move before she made it. all she wanted was to have a little fun without another fleury following close behind.
by her early twenties, prudence straightened out. mostly. her brothers went into the family business in oil trading, while she opted for a different route entirely. she earned a degree in psychology with a minor in political science. a part of her wanted to try her hand at law school and unlike most of her classmates, she had the means to do it and the safety net to fall into if she decided it wasn't for her.
instead, her father made a childhood dream come true. he purchased a storefront and helped her kickstart a flower shop. it started off small, but within two years, she was turning a real profit and proud of herself for doing so. it was proof that she hadn't made a mistake by not continuing her education. she never once questioned how her father afforded such a gift, seeing as he'd always made good money in oil trading.
she was on cloud nine when a stranger came into her shop and changed everything that she thought she knew. they were kind, funny, and radiated the kind of warmth that she wanted to be near. their relationship blossomed quickly and just like she was a teenager again, her brothers swooped in without permission and crumbled the walls of happiness all around her.
as it turned out, the person she'd thought to be the very thing she'd been missing was a plant for a federal agency. when she called them on their lies, they didn't bother with another coverup. rather than play their game, she shut down on everyone. she left the keys to the shop in the mailbox of her childhood home and didn't look back. it wasn't her place to be an inside job to a federal agency, and she refused to be the one who sent warning shots towards her father, a man she'd once swore hung the moon and all the stars in the sky.
she drove until she stopped in windsor bay. that was six months ago and truth be told, she's still not completely settled. she occasionally googles her father's name to see if there's any news, but that's not the hardest part of it all. she blamed the break up on her need to leave, an excuse her younger brother had accepted, even if he didn't agree with the dramatic exit. from what she can tell, he doesn't have a clue about what her father's up to and she'd rather keep it that way.

from the before times: this is someone she knew before her life went to total shit. maybe they knew her from college, or maybe sometime after, but they'd be more than a little surprised to see her in windsor bay and not soaking up the wealth of her family name in san ramon. — open.
the operator — pru was this federal agent's mark. she found out the truth a few months into the mission, a mistake on their part. she denied knowing of her father's criminal involvement, but deep down, she'd always known that the family of six were living well beyond the means of an oil trader. rather than help the agent get even closer to her father, pru turned her back on all of them and ran for the hills. she didn't want to be involved in their mess. — open.
