Bailey does their best not to flinch, all too aware of the fact that to display of anything less that unwavering courage could wind them in ever hotter water than that of what they’re already being steeped in like a forgotten about packet of tea. That gaze isn’t something that they’re new to being on the receiving end of, and yet the fact it’s coming from an agent of mi6 gives it such a different feeling. They’re never face to face with these people, always running or hiding or doing their best to avoid them and yet here they are. Standing in defiance and mentally kicking themself as a smile of all things spreads across their face.
“It’s not stalking, first of all,” it may not be smart to correct her, but that isn’t going to stop them from doing it anyways, “I haven’t harassed you in any way. All I’ve done is watch you come and go from the train station. It’s… watching, not stalking.” Not helping their case however is the knowledge that they hold of Miss Odekar, the source of which ( at least to her ) is currently unaccounted for.
Intelligence agencies are always so thorough in their information on their own agents, and Bailey has read through the documents often enough to recall her more noteworthy missions off the top of their head.
“Asha Odekar,” they say it as if they’re reading it from a book, “An agent of mi6. Your partner is Matthew Miller. He used to work for the Syndicate, but now he works with you. There’s more than that, of course, but we are in public and it’s quite rude to just go around blurting out one’s private information.” The crowd could swallow them now. Disappearing would be easy. They could end this encounter and flee with the little bit of adrenaline they’ve already gathered from this. They must be possessed by a goddamned demon.
An inhale to steady their heart beat.
“This isn’t information I’ve gotten from stalking you, I’ll have you know. I’ve only been watching you for about a week, and never once have I followed you beyond this train station. This is information that your employers have lost due to incompetence.”
Choosing carefully from the selection of folders in their grasp, they pull out one that’s particularly small, glancing at the label to make sure their choice is right before offering it carefully to Asha. Inside is a paradise for any would-be stalker– Or anyone keen on hunting down agents like prey animals, at least.
“Make no mention of the far more dangerous things they’ve simply let slip from their grasp.”
The moment they spoke, Asha couldn’t help but scowl. They really had the nerve to say such a thing, hm? Why, She had to resist the urge to grab them by the collar and shove them into the nearest wall.
They were in public, she didn’t want to make a scene.
“Quite the fine line between the two, then.” She growled, clearly not amused by the current situation. She didn’t know who this person was or what they wanted, but you can bet your ass she wasn’t letting them get out of this situation scot-free.
Now, the girl wasn’t as paranoid as her partner was; she didn’t mind some information on her being out there... Name, city? Whatever... But what they ahd on her... It made her uncomfortable.
And... It was all information that was pulled from MI6?
Oh, she was going to have to talk to Matt when she got home. If anyone could check the security at work, it was him. Information grabbing had been his thing for quite some time now-- and with how much he prided himself in hacking, she had no doubt he could repair whatever security issue they had.
Of course... She couldn’t help but feel a bit surprised that it happened in the first place, considering, you know... Their whole thing was intelligence.
What sort of intelligence agency has a hole in its system???
Clenching her fists she practically stared a hole through her new... Friend with her green gaze. Surely this public meeting was planned, yeah? Hard to make a scene with so many eyes watching.
Taking the file with with a mixture of anger and apprehension, she didn’t bother to open it at the current moment, instead, her eyes never left the other in front of her.
“Oh yeah? Is there a catch to handing this over?”
She knew this type... It was rare that they’d hand over information for free.
