In case of fire: 1. git commit 2. git push 3. leave building
Note that the knowledge for each level is cumulative; being at level n implies that you also know everything from the levels lower than n. Computer Science 2n (Level 0) n2 (Level 1) n (Level 2) log…
Buying a laptop with Intel on the inside often boils down to two choices. Do you go with the potent Core i processor like the i5 or i7, or do you save some money (and battery life) and grab the super low powered Core M processor usually reserved for tiny tablets? Core i and Core M, despite both coming from Intel, are very different families of processors and provide very different services to a computer user. So it’s kind of bullshit that Intel, with the release of Kaby Lake, has quietly changed the name of two Core M processors (the m5 and m7) and is now calling them i5 and i7 processors.

Apple packed a bunch of design details in your iPhone.
I knew some of these like the clock always telling the correct time (BONUS: The Calendar icon always shows the correct date) and that there were two screens for answering the phone though I didn't fully know what the trigger was to getting which screen. The switch on the flashlight is just trippy.

Turns out the pricey investments haven't really demonstrated their worth.

How to gain access to a Windows machine if the drive isn't encrypted
Why does OOP dominate the industry?
Former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, who infamously once declared Linux a cancer, has now had a change of heart and applauded the company's latest moves to embrace the open source platform.
GOOD NEWS! Ex Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer no longer thinks that Linux is a cancer.
Raymond Samuel Tomlinson, who is credited with inventing email and putting the now ubiquitous “@” sign in addresses, has died at the age of 74.

Mac users won't be able to run Oculus Rift when the long-awaited virtual reality headset starts...
The Mac Pro, Apple's single fastest computer, hasn't been updated since 2013.
That's not true; the Retina 5K iMac has a higher frequencey and therefore can complete single-threaded tasks faster. The only way the Mac Pro becomes "faster" is if you need a massively parallel system and the code you're excecuting gets more performance out of running on many CPU cores than it does running on fewer but faster cores.
To wit: the fastest Mac Pro currently Turbo Boosts to 3.9Ghz; the Retina 5K iMac's fastes chip starts at 4.0Ghz and will Turbo Boost to 4.4Ghz. The more cores you add to the Mac Pro, the slower the machine gets: a 12-core Xeon E5's base frequency is 2.7Ghz.
