Troubles with the second harvest of #clickandgrow : Mini Tomato did not germinate all, Rocket Salad an Chili Pepper started ok, but were soon attacked by plant lice & ants. The ants LOVE the smart nano soil.

Quick development & one problem with C&G: After a couple of weeks traveling, coriander was flourishing. Adding water jammed the float and I poured too much water, the water level sensor got confused and blinked low water light when tank full. Poured all water out, booted, added water and all ok again. This all end of Jan so lagging the posts a bit.

Finally properly spicy food from Hubei in inner city backstreets of Shenzhen. No idea what animals were sacrificed for this. Hopefully non-endangered.

Pea & sauerkraut soup with cold smoked salmon. Surprisingly delicious! Sautee couple of onions, add +1 litre stock (we had veggie), add 600g frozen peas, let boil, puree with blender, add 400g sauerkraut, cook 15mins, add 3tsp horseradish, 2dl cream, lemon, s&p, sugar to taste. Serve with thin slices of gravlax / cold smoked salmon and parsley. Thanks Jürgen.

Logging the soil & room temperature, soil moisture & light levels of Click&Grow with Arduino & sending the data to Thingspeak channel. One-wire DS18B20 temp sensors, simple LDR for light and conductivity for soil moisture. https://thingspeak.com/channels/9400

Inside Click&Grow "Smart Herb Garden." Simple to setup, light seems strong enough (results later), apparently the smartness in this version is limited in a) indicating low water level and b) timing fixed 16h light 8h sleep. The smartness of the "smart soil" cartridge remains to be compared with other growth medium. Some comments on the pics.
