On Wednesday, our little rockin' trio were invited to play the kick-off of this year's summer sessions of Girls Rock! Chicago Rock Camps. We did our best PG-13 renditions for all of the 8-16 year old campers and their parents, and hopefully inspired some future female rockers.

The camp, a week-long crash course in learning an instrument, forming a band, and performing your own song, sounds amazing. It took me so long to be able to pick up a guitar and perform in front of even my closest friends. I was in college before I could perform in front of a crowd. The ripple effect from the confidence and tenacity that this camp instills in these girls will be felt for years to come in the Chicago music scene. On the horizon, we're ecstatic to be playing with Kittens?, Indian Summer and Natalie Grace Alford!!!  That's July 11th at the Underground Lounge.

Property of Saints hit up the Township stage once more this past Friday, June 7th with 13 MONSTERS and STILL MACHINE.  A night of heavy tunes and hearty company, we were super stoked to hit up one of our favorite Chicago venues this weekend.  After a Monday night live session with podcasters the DONKEY BANANA SHOW, we were fueled up and ready to rumble!  Next up, we play UNDERGROUND LOUNGE on Thursday, July 11th!  Stay tuned, and stay classy!

Property of Saints is ready to ride the internet radio waves of the Donkey Banana show next MON, JUNE 3RD with fellow rockers 13 Monsters as we collaborate for the first time leading up to our show on FRI, JUNE 7TH at Township, Chicago.  We will perform 2 original POS gems that will be recorded live and broadcast as candy for your ears. WISCONSIN: A RECAP OF BEERS, BRATS & BABES- BY THE BASSIST

Hey there slayers!  Property of Saints just completed our live debut in the "forward state" Wisconsin this weekend, and we had a blast.  A huge thank you needs to be given to our friends, family, and fans that hosted us, fed us, and joined us for a weekend of beers, brats and babes.  We had our expectations blown out of the water by all of the kind words, amazing acts, and shared love for music this weekend.  We could not have done any of it without all the fine people of Wisconsin who made our weekend a reality.

Friday night the Property of Saints escape pod landed at Milwaukee's Riverwest Public House where we shared the appropriately bird-themed stage with folk rockers OKERLO, blues jammers CHERRYBALL, and indie duo SLIGHT GHOST.  This neighborhood music spot had some of the finest sound we have encountered, manned by a smiling sound veteran named River.  Crew mates from Chicago surprised us by driving up to the show, and the excitement of the night led to one of our most JACKED performances to date.  

After a tequila doused night and a lazy day sampling Milwaukee's Lakefront Brewery beer, we hit the road again on Saturday north all the way to Wausau.  Whatever expectations we had going into the night were immediately blasted into space and turned into a pretty fireworks display as soon as opening act KITTENS? hit the stage.  Front man Jerry Duginski moved around the stage much like a big cat stalking his prey as his raspy and commanding voice filled the air with roars of love had and love lost.  At his side, guitarist Devil Rick slayed pinch harmonics while drummer Chopper Dave drove the band straight home and into our hearts.  The crowd showed some mad love for Kittens? and banjo-sax fused act THE HI-MATICS.  Our set had some minor hiccups (Abby's amp shorted and Paul nearly threw up on his drums from a burger-induced moment of nausea), but overall, we gave Wausau our all and in return got some of the most sincere and encouraging feedback we could have asked for.  Serious respect to the town of Wausau, Wisconsin.  Y'all know how to party until the sun comes up and show a few wayward city slickers one hell of a time.

As Wisconsin natives The Bodeans once said, "Paradise, it ain't hard to find.  Looking out your window at the world outside".  Thank you Wisconsin. You have won our hearts and our ears, and we will meet again soon.

Property of Saints are heading to Milwaukee tomorrow night for our debut in the great big ol' state of Wisconsin.  We get the privilege of our first show of the weekend to be at RIVERWEST PUBLIC HOUSE with locals OKERLO and their fast folk tunes, dream duo SLIGHT GHOST, and the ROBERT JOHN & CHERRYBALL gang.  We are testing out some new material and switching up our set list with this show.  Get ready, Milwaukee.  We plan to rock your cap off.

AND THAT'S ONLY THE HALF OF IT! We take flight again on Saturday to Wausau, WI to the highly anticipated POLACK INN with KITTENS and THE HI-MATICS!  Who knows what sort of shenanigans the three of us will get into once we go off the grid and into the wild north. I can only imagine great things.

"Swag", you say? Yes, that is our very swag drummer Paul sitting on the classiest drum throne/recliner of all time.  As we get settled in at our new practice space, new gems keep popping up that are making stellar additions to this spanking new room.  That fresh paint and untainted carpet will be getting broken in as we get ready for our next few shows coming up next weekend in the big ol' cheese planet colloquially known as Wisconsin.  We will be hitting up Milwaukee on Friday, May 10th at the RIVERWEST PUBLIC HOUSE with local blasters OKERLO, SLIGHT GHOST and CHERRYBALL.  On Saturday May 11th, we take flight again and play Wausau's POLACK INN with KITTENS.  Yes, I said KITTENS.  Stay tuned for our next posts that follow us into fresh Property of Saints territory!  KA-KAW, my friends.  KA-KAWW!

I've been quite quiet on the tumblr front. I've been battling (as has Christie) a terrible sickness recently. 

Just wanted to inform you all of our fevers have broken, all of our lungs are intact and all of our bodies have mended.

I have been trying to write new songs from the makeshift fort of my bed. The next time you see us, we will hopefully have these new ideas realized with the freshest beats to back them.

In other news, look out for some PropSaints announcements to hit your ears soon. We plan to make waves and we can't navigate this ocean without your love and support.

Hey everybody. Paul here. How are you?  Took a little trip down memory lane and played a show in my home turf of Cincinnati on Friday and boy was it a doozy! I am going to speak for all of us in P.O.S.  and say we had a genuinely amazing time. We want to thank Mayday, OverTheRhineStoneCowboy and Mardou for being incredibly gracious hosts. I tend to be slightly long winded when it comes to recaps, so I will try and keep it brief.   It was truly a blessing to play with my new band who I love in front of all my brothers in Cincy. Both bands we played with were so great. I was floored by my Venegas bandcmate Tim Clark and OverTheRhineStoneCowboy. Tim’s voice,song writing and guitar playing were brilliant and I am extremely proud of him as usual!  Mardou brought the 90’s love back in full-effect and we loved it! Being in this band has been nothing but awesome times and I am really REALLY happy with how this outing went.

Ah! Such a great weekend of shows.  I want to thank the Large family in Indy for the incredible hospitality as well as Tim for sharing his sweet home, booze , his girlfriends righteous homecookin’, and a soak in the sun away from the harsh Western Ave. winds!

Really amazing to see all of you in the Queen city and thank you so much for the support on Friday. Means a lot J

A Recap of Last Night's Show at The Burlington, by the Bassist.

Last night (March 25th) Property of Saints played at Logan Square's dark and dive-y Burlington Bar.  This was our last show in Chicago before we hit the road!  We pulled up in the alley at load-in and were greeted by our fellow bill-mates Sidewalk Dave (New York) and Elison Jackson (New Haven, CT).  Mid-tour and new to the Windy city, these guys were half-haggard and half-euphoric as they poured out of their tour van.  After agreeing to share our newly acquired drums with the other two acts, we started setting up our back line to discover two carnival prize pillows stuffed in the bass drum.  Asbestos seemed apparent, so we said goodbye to the crusty things that had been hiding in our bass drum.

Back lined and sound checked, the three bands hit the bar together for some drinks and solid conversations.  We went from "Nice to meet you" to discussing our strangest recurring dreams in about an  hour.  By show time, we were all JACKED. Elison Jackson opened with his solo set, and was later backed by Sidewalk Dave who added his fast chords and punchy melodies to Elison's haunting vocals.

Lit by a single red bulb from one corner of the stage, Property of Saints summoned the rock gods of the underworld to deliver a hard rocking and demanding set.  We ended with our two newest songs, Sand snakes and Ghosts , and left the crowd in a "dreamlike" daze.  As we came back to Earth and the rock demons were relinquished, friends and coworkers greeted us with praise and whiskey.

Sidewalk Dave took the stage and took the torch to finish up the night with a stellar set of hard yet thoughtful tunes.  Heads banged, "YEAHS" were expelled from booze-soaked lungs, and good times were had by all.  The show was the type that stirs you up and makes you remember all the reasons why you love music.  Good people appreciating good music.  Doesn't get much better.
