“I…I wish you would eat Thomas…” she whispered sadly. “I…I’ll be back in the morning” she choked out before rushing away.

Thomas heard the door close behind her and let out a shaky breath. He got no sleep that night and in the early morning two of the guards came in to move him. He was strapped to a machine despite his violent attempts to break free.

When Lexi arrived the other doctor debriefed her on what the higher ups wanted. “They said it’s necessary to do this, they picked out the scenarios that they want him to go through today. Something to do with a maze.”

The doctor hesitated. "The higher ups pushed for this... you'd have to speak with them about stopping it."

Thomas stared back at her, hesitating. He didn’t trust her and was afraid to reveal too much information. “I need to be with them, not be experimented on.”

Alexis paled almost instantly and she looked like she might pass out. “Th-they killed kids?” She whispered.

Thomas nodded. “We had a wall with the names of everyone who died written on it. There were a lot. And more are going to die if I don’t get out of here.”

Thomas looked up at her, trying to tell if she was lying or not. “I’m sure they didn’t keep the records of it. They wiped our memories and put a bunch of us in a maze with monsters... good kids died.” His voice cracked as he pictured Chuck’s face in his mind.

Lexi let out a sigh of relief once she was sure he was gone. She turned then and hurried to Thomas’s cell, now even more set on seeing him. She opened the door and stepped inside quietly.

Thomas lifted his head when the door opened, wondering who would be coming to see him. At the sight of Lexi he tried to mask the fear in his eyes that she would do more tests. “If you’re gonna try to make me eat too, I’m not hungry.” He insisted.

"They think I have what's needed for the cure, at least that's what I heard. They could be wrong... but they won't admit that." Thomas sighed. "I don't want anything to do with WCKED. Not after the maze trials."

Janson pursed his lips slightly in annoyance. “Right, of course. Another time then.” With that, he turned and walked away.

Lexi tilted her head, it wasn’t normal for Janson to be down in the labs at this time. “Sir…” she said politely. “Can I help you?” She asked. Her eyes flickered to Thomas’s cell for a split second before turning her full attention back to Janson.

Janson forced a smile as he came up with a lie. “I needed to ask Thomas a few questions about the whereabouts of his friend’s. They are also needed here for testing.” He lied smoothly, still there was something off about the way he said Thomas’ name. The hatred in his voice was clear.

Alexis went to the meeting she was called to before returning to the lab to do some work. She went by Thomas’s cell to check on him, worried someone might have tried to mess with him again.

Just when she arrived, Janson had walked around the corner. He had been going to Thomas’ cell with the full intention of killing him... or at least hurting him enough to almost kill him. He stopped however when he saw Lexi. “Alexis... I didn’t know your meeting was out.”

Lexi looked up at her colleague and nodded “Thank you…please be gentle with him…I can’t do tests on him if he’s messed up” she insisted.

Thomas let out a soft sound of protest, before slipping into unconsciousness. The doctor nodded and moved him to the holding room.

He woke later and when one of the nurses went in with a tray of food he refused to eat. He’d rather starve then take anything from WCKED. Had he not still been restrained to would have tried to escape.

She really didn’t want to start over with another subject but she nodded her head and perped to see her new subject. She opened the door to his room and gave him a smile as she put her gloves on. “You must be Thomas” she said.

There were two armed guards by the door, making sure Thomas didn’t get out. WCKED didn’t want to lose him again. Thomas looked over at her with a glare, pulling on his restraints weakly. He had been given a light sedative but that wasn’t going to stop him. “Who are you?”

Thomas wanted to snap at her, but was too out of it from being hit in the head. His eyes closed and he let out a soft breath. "I wanna go back to me friends." He mumbled. Suddenly the door opened and one of the other doctors peeked their head in. "Alexis, they need you. I'll take him back to his holding room."

The guard looked annoyed but apologized before walking back out of the room. Thomas looked up at Lexi in a daze. There was a small cut on his forehead where the gun hit but otherwise he was alright.
