ballas hated the glasses, because they reminded him of heracles father. so he never wore them around ballas. he'd go to ballas office/workshop/whatever, stand outside the door, and take them off and put them in his bag. it was a ritual practically. take off your dead fathers glasses that you basically wear as a safety blanket so the man who pretends to be your father to a degree doesnt scream at you and chuck a table at your head
