The regional starter pokemon are one of the most well-established aspects of the pokemon universe. When an aspiring trainer reaches 10 years of age,they visit the local pokemon professor and they are given a choice…Water, Grass or Fire. As a group, these starter pokemon share several aspects in common. They are all 3 stage evolutions who reach their final evolution around level 36. They are seven times more likely to be male than female and, most significantly (as far as this theory is concerned) they are not found in the wild.
