The pup hummed quietly as he listened, interested to hear of such places, but never to visit. They were too crowded, too…busy. Even if an odd child like him wouldn’t stand out, Valrún had no interest in bumping shoulders with so many strangers. It was an adventure enough to accompany Humphrey on visits to Venice or Paris for short trips. Mostly, he preferred the quiet places in the world where he could enjoy the company of nature around him.

He smiled a little wryly. “I don’t talk to a lot of people,” he admitted. “I prefer to watch from a distance.”

Since the stranger’s words were rather benign so far, the pup saw no reason not to share a little bit. “I’ve met a few people from the stars, though. And I like to look up at them at night. If we wait until night, can you show me where you come from?”

The man turned and looked at the sky, eyes narrowing as he peered into the light blue of day. lifting his hands to his eyes to shield them. As if it mattered, but it gave the illusion it did.

“Can constellations be people?“ He mused thoughtfully, tipping his head. “It is a pleasure to meet you Valrun. I am indeed apart of the constellation, one of its denizens. I am in my nature, an explorer. I’ve seen quite a variety of places, and find them most interesting when places seem to thrive with life.“

He placed his hands upon his lap, folding them.

“I am not here looking for anyone or thing specifically, just to see this young planet thriving. I’ll be honest, you are not the first terrestrial I have spoken to, just one of the more interesting ones.“

“Are you familiar with entities like myself, you have quite a keen mind.“

The pup gave a small shrug. “I guess I’m not sure. I thought I’ve met other constellations, but maybe they just ruled…” Realizing he was oversharing a bit, his lips pinched a little as he forced a smile.

Valrún cocked his head a little as he tried to reason out just what made him so interesting to a traveler of galaxies. To his knowledge, he was nothing special. Maybe…unique, but not especially remarkable. At least, not in his own thinking.

“Who else have you met? What did you learn from them?” he wondered. On a poor attempt to hide his curiosity, the redhead quickly added, “I don’t want to cover ground they already have, you know?”

“My name is Argo, like the constellation.“ He responded, sitting down on the ground. “What is your name? As far as what I would like to know, what would you like to tell me about the planet? I am quite new to Earth.“

“I’m Valrún,” he greeted, mirroring Argo’s actions by sitting down as well, crossing his legs and leaning back comfortably. Still unwilling to divulge a great deal of information without knowing more first, the boy tilted his head. “Like the constellation… Because you are a constellation? What brought you here? Are you searching for someone?” The pup thought to his recent conversation with a certain singularity. Hadn’t Nero warned about people coming to look for him? Had he found him by scent, just like Nero had suggested?

“As keenly as you can sense I am not a simple spirit of this Terran planet.“ Typhan responded with a hum. Pale eyes sizing the child up. “I assure you, I am far from any creature or being you’ve ever met. My intentions are far more benevolent than the typical old ones.

I seek to learn, and who better to learn from than a child?“

While he kept his suspicions ever present in the back of his mind, Valrún found himself relaxing in the old man’s presence. Even if he looked young, the pup was almost certain he was of an age that maybe even outlived galaxies.

“What do you want to know?” The redhead couldn’t imagine what he could possibly teach the stranger. “What’s your name?”
