dependancy is a funny feeling,

in the ways you look at girls through the gaps between your fingers, analysing what you can,

knowing you will never be a good enough writer,

knowing, knowing, forever knowing your talent will be unknown,

classing it as a talent is lying through the skin of your teeth,

dependency, imagining it happening again, what you’d do ‘next time’

what you’d do next time.

it leads back to the same resort,

sobbing, pleading him not to leave,

grabbing him by his shirt and pulling him back into the safety of your arms despite there being no warmth in your grip.

you’re dependent on emptiness,

its shallow but it fills the hunger in your stomach whilst the pit growls under the noise of your cries

it waits for you in corners of rooms,

you wait for it in the softness of his kisses,

almost always touching but never quite there, it will always be never quite there with him

that shallowness.

it lurks, like a cough you can never quite let out, its unsettling and it rips home from your fingertips.

he is no longer home,

he is a gun,

he is the gun between your lips,

I love my guitar, but as a poet writing music is killing me

if he doesn’t give me puppy dog eyes i really truely do not want this man.
