i do think shadowrun's depiction of native americans is flawed, but despite that, it still remains one of my favorite ttrpg settings by virtue of the fact that they are meaningfully included. like the formation of the native american nations is extremely relevant to sr's alternate history and thats very cool to see, especially given the time in which the setting was written

ive been playing the actual story of rdr2 this weekend since ive been sick and i really like that theres an afro indigenous character. i like it so much that im almost willing to forgive the fact that they made him the gang member who uses a bow. ill forgive it entirely if the fictional tribe in the game uses guns, which they probably should because i think they're supposed to be plains ndns

i recognize that many people engage with rt as a power fantasy. you see the sentiment directly stated on reddit a lot, and many iconoclast players on here often read to me as enjoying the fantasy of being able to be compassionate in a world thats not, or as veering into the not uncommon settler fantasy of being the "nice" colonizer who is absolved of complicity through being nice. but theres literally nothing about the premise of the game that i can engage with as a power fantasy, and i do wish this was a more common sentiment tbh. despite its premise, i dont actually think the game is trying to be a power fantasy. people just read that into it, or else ignore that the game is being critical of much of the supposed fantasy.
