If I would have met you today..

Man, it is crazy how quickly shits changed.

The storm has settled.

My waves at bay.

My fears I conquer

Like child's play.

My reflection now loved;

Freedom fills my days,

And I could finally love you

The same exact way.

I'm slow to anger.

I'm quick to understand.

At the time our eyes met

Waist high was I in quick sand.

I'm sorry my pain, I placed onto you.

It was so unfair what my hurt put you through.

But if time was fair,

I would meet you again.

A whole complete soul

Recognizing a friend.

Instead of being scared-

I would be free;

Free to feel joy,

Finally letting Me be happy.

I know life has its reasons

Why we threw in the towel.

But if I would have met you today...
