I canât believe the Tres Bestias rescued Harribel and live happily ever after in Hueco Mundo with Nel, Pesche, and DondochakkaÂ

/sits down a few feet away from her, comfortable and relaxed.
The steps leading up to the main keep were a favorite place of hers to sit. Miles and miles of desert stretched on before her, while the remnants of Las Noches spiraled outwards like the spokes of a wheel. From here, she could see any approaching figure.Â
Unless, of course, they appeared from behind her.
Sung-Sun glanced over her shoulder, pale gaze trailing up to his face as he took a seat behind her, above her. For a few seconds she merely observed the sexta, noting the lack of tension that normally permeated the air around him. When she spoke she faced forward again, but made sure her voice was loud enough to drift back towards him.
âIt sounded as though you had an...â What was the right word? â--exciting afternoon.â

Ducks inside.
His gaze turned outwards to the land around them, a passive silence falling over the two. He was not entirely content to wait patiently for her to continue her questioning but he had come to notice she was careful. Particularly when it came to what she said and to whom she was speaking. Idly he wondered if she ever truly spoke her mind completely â and what would she say if she did? He didnât doubt she would express her desire for him to leave her be ( if not for what he had done to her but rather what he could do ) but really, he wasnât to blame. She did nothing to deter his actions, if anything she often gave into what he wanted, giving him something to quell his boredom.
Which was the main reason he found her presence tolerable, entertaining even at times. She filled the perpetual â- monotony that had once again become his life. It was not unlike it had been before. His solitary strive to continue to progress and achieve new strengths was just that: solitary. He was leagues ahead of those who served him and it meant that they could not keep up. As the King grew stronger, so did the enemy. Yet one worthy to call themselves his opponent had yet to surface ( or resurface if he would be so lucky to come across Kurosaki one more time ) and so there was nothing. Nothing beyond his own, silent progression.Â
Cyan Sung-Sun had broken that routine though, one that had only been broken once before. Why? Grimmjows mouth tugged downwards at the corner, watching her from the corner of his eye. What, beyond her mildly entertaining him, had him willfully continuing their interactions? He wasnât entirely sure and the uncertainty caused frustration to bleed into his gut. He was content with being the lone King. Content with being alone. Yet here he was, engaging in a conversation where in she held some power ( no matter how careful she was with it ).Â
Grimmjow opened his mouth, as if to speak but the hesitation of her following question drew him short. This time his surprise shown in a flash across his face as he took in her words. How long had it been since someone had dared to ask him of them? â After what had happened, those who had didnât survive and the rest of them quickly realized it wasnât a topic for them to discuss. There had been hesitation though in her voice and he knew that she was aware of what dangerous line she tread. He almost laughed in amusement at the thought. Perhaps she wasnât as careful as he had believed her to be and he could admit to himself he preferred her not to be.
âI met âem all before this shit,â Grimmjow answered truthfully, his tone bordering on dangerous and excited â daring, urging her to continue to see just how far she could take it, âThey tried tâeat me,â he couldnât help the laughter that fell from his mouth, âbut they learned quick enough their place â and offered up their servitude to me as their King.â
Surprise. Yes, thatâs what it was that flickered across his face for just a moment. Surprise -- and only surprise. Relief washed through her, relaxing her posture just a fraction. Grimmjow was not a subtle man. He would let his anger show if she crossed the line. All it would take was a single word, a single glance, and she would let this entire game of theirs cease. But it appeared they werenât quite at that point.
âThey tried to eat you?â Granted, that was how most encounters in the desert went. Surely, though, they should have sensed his power? When Harribel found her, Sung-Sun knew immediately she was gazing upon a being of an entirely different level. That sort of arrogance was something they all shared. She could only imagine how it must have went afterwards for his fraccion. Yet the fact they survived despite the odds said a great deal about him. If she didnât know any better, she would have assumed a meeting like that would end in their deaths. He actually gave them a chance. How...interesting. Â
The sudden shift of his tone drew her eyes back to his face. There was a glint of -- something there, flashing in his eyes and grin. Was he actually enjoying her questions? It almost seemed that way. Even after all their conversations, she still didnât know why he bothered talking to her, of all people. She knew of him, knew what he was capable of and what he would do to the people that crossed him. How was she supposed to believe he had no ulterior motives? They always did.Â
Even so...she wasnât the one freely giving away information, was she? He could have easily demanded something in return for his answers. Perhaps he would, and she could gleam what it was he was after. In the meantime, however, there was no harm she could think of so long as he was doing the majority of talking. Her sleeve came to press against her lips again. She did so without realizing; the pressure of the fabric against her mouth always helped her think. Maybe something in his tone did embolden her. Whatever the cause may be, the pause was a much shorter one than before as she followed that line of thought to its logical conclusion.Â
âWould you ever consider taking in more?â she asked, watching, waiting to observe his reaction, whether it be pleased or outraged. Each question was a little more personal than the one before and she couldnât help but compare the answer she expected against the one she received. More often than not, she found the two contradicting. Idly she wondered if that would be the case here now. After experiencing companionship for so long, she felt it would be impossible to return to solitude. Maybe for a few years ( maybe even a few decades ), but not forever. Once there you had a taste of something you came to know what you were missing before. The real question was if he would admit it.Â
âI met âem all before this shit.â Grimmjow answered truthfully, his tone bordering on dangerous and excited â daring, urging her to continue to see just how far she could take itâŚ

Why does he care whether or not I have my sleeve up?
âI have no idea why he speaks to me; ask him if youâre so curious.â
âDoes he even own a shirt?â
I still remember the feel of his reiatsu during that battle.Â
âIf he hates Las Noches as much as he says, I donât understand why he doesnât just leave it all behind completely.âÂ
âI donât think he wants to fight Harribel-sama.â
I wonder what he wants from me.Â
âHeâs not awfully hard to read, most of the time.âÂ
I hate that I can feel him staring.
âIâm sure heâll be gone soon enough.â

âWhy is he so tall?â
âHe has no right to speak to Harribel-sama that way.âÂ
âWhy is that hood necessary?â
âAt least we can hear him coming with those obnoxious bangles.â
âHe needs to keep his tongue in his mouth.âÂ
âThe only reason he has place is because he cheated.âÂ
âThe best thing to do is avoid him.â
âI donât understand why Tesla would follow him.â
âHe has no reason to lug around his zanpakuto to the Espada meetings.â
âHe wouldnât dare try something like that on Harribel-sama.â

âIs she dancing again? I can hear her thumping around.â
âWhy is she so loud?â
âShe acts like such a child.âÂ
âIf she doesnât learn to rein in her temper, she will get hurt.âÂ
Harribel would be devastated if something happened to her. So would I.
âI just wish she listened to me sometimes.â
âAllon gets his temperament from her.âÂ
I suppose Harribel finding her wasnât the worst thing in the world.
âWas she in my room again? My things are all over the place.âÂ
âWhy does she talk to so many strangers? Where does she even find them?.â

âI owe her more than my life.â
âSheâs nothing like Aizen; sheâs one of us. She deserves her place.âÂ
I wonder, sometimes, why she hides her mask.
âShe shouldnât have to endure them talking to her like that.âÂ
I failed her in Karakura. We all did. We canât let it happen again.
âSheâs stronger than you could ever hope to be.â
Her presence is so soothing.
Is she truly alright with becoming Queen? Was I right to ask her?
âHarribel-sama knows what sheâs doing. Sheâs guided us longer than you know.â
âIâll stay with her as long as Iâm alive.â
So a friend of mine asked me what my favorite icon is.

Grimmjow shrugged at her comment about what could lurk below, his gaze lowering from the false sky above and back to her face. It was more than likely the same as above it. Hueco Mundo, despite her different regions was much the same when it came to its occupants. Each day was a struggle to not only survive but to thrive. To pursue greater power, more strength â the desire to evolve laid within each of them just the same as the last. Though the King believed those that had become Arrancar had grown lazy and content as of late.
Yet he made no indication of a reply aloud, instead waiting in silence for her to continue. Surely she had far more intrusive questions and he wondered if she would dare ask him. Even he didnât know how he would respond but that made this⌠game all the more exciting. He was allowing her the opportunity to test her boundaries and in turn he was using it to read her. How comfortable was she exactly around him? â And to what reason had she yet to avoid him entirely? It wasnât as though he had given her a reason to but he knew where her loyalties lay.Â
Perhaps the entirety of it was to gain information from him ( what sort of questions she asked would determine that ). Though a large part of him doubted Tier would risk the life of one of her own for something like that. Besides, she knew he was far from subtle. If he had any intentions of taking her out she would be the first to know. Lavender eyes turned back to meet his gaze, the question falling from her lips catching him somewhat by surprise.Â
He raised a blue brow, thinking upon it. He supposed that he did, though the frequency had died over time. Much of his early life had been spent within he World of the Living. The desire to return had been strong before, though it had always brought on swelling feelings of rage. Though most recently, from what he could remember, it had only seemed to produce a dull sense of familiarity and uninspiring anger within him. â How long had it been since he had gone back now?Â
âSometimes.â He replied to break the silence that had stretched on, eyes closed briefly to envision the jungle that had always drawn him back before. He had never seen a place so vastly different to Hueco Munco and though he would never trade her, he couldnât deny completely that it held its own benefits, âNot in a while though. It just ainât really a priority.â
While he took his time contemplating his response, she waited patient as ever, attention divided evenly between him and her dear pet. From the extended silence, she was expecting something more substantial than a one word reply and the almost dismissive sentence that followed. Some part of her thought, given his restlessness, he would have roamed outside of Hueco Mundo. Though when she took the time to think back, she didnât know of anyone who dared venture between the realms. Aizen hadnât expressly forbidden it ( at least, not that she ever heard ), but he made it clear enough just how displeased he would be if the Shinigami learned of their existence before the time was right.Â
Since he seemed not to have anything else to add, Sung-Sun let that topic drop. When he made no effort to speak again she knew he was waiting for another question. Thinking of them, she was quickly realizing, was more difficult than she anticipated. It wasnât as if sheâd ever been overly interested in the Sexta. During Aizenâs reign, he was just another Espada that served along side Harribel, one with a nasty temper she preferred to avoid. The times their paths crossed could be counted on one hand. Doubtful he recalled any of those instances, either, when she spent most of them hovering behind Harribel with the other bestias. More often than not, it was his fraccion she met in the hallways.Â
Not all of them had been pleasant. If she was being honest, she could only stand one of them. The rest were your typical arrancar -- loud, aggressive, arrogant. That they could somehow coexist in one tower was a feat in and of itself. How he came about such an odd group, that might prove an interesting story. But was the subject of his fraccion a sensitive one? Considering what happened to them, that is. Only Yylfordt had managed to reappear, and even now she remembered the rage that engulfed him after that...escapade went awry. Tilting her head to the side, she deliberated in asking, lips half-parted until she finally pushed through her hesitation.
âDid you meet your fraccion before or after you became an arrancar?â They arrived some time prior to her and Harribel -- before almost anyone else, if their numbers were any indication-- so she knew little of their origins. He seemed like he would have been the solitary type as an adjucha, though maybe heâd surprise her.

"Oh y'know. Almost went to war, achieved Vollstandig, adopted a kitten-- nothin' really."
Wait, wait, wait -- War? You donât just go from offhandedly mentioning a war to adopting kittens. Sung-Sun blinked, then gave a light shake of her head as she chose to focus on the one unfamiliar item on his list.
âWhat is a...Vollstandig?â The word felt clunky in her mouth; clearly it hailed from another language entirely.
